It's the last stop along the Côte d'Azur, just before the Italy border. The town is utterly picturesque, and its small size makes it an ideal day trip destination along the French Riviera.

In recent times, I've been delving deep into the art of listening. Listening to others, lending an ear to my own thoughts, and truly absorbing the world around me. As the saying goes, having someone who sincerely understands us, who truly listens as we navigate our problems, can shift our entire perspective.
Isn't that the truth? By tuning into ourselves, understanding our likes and dislikes, we can enhance our relationships and our inner peace.
This podcast is my platform for strengthening my communication skills, hence the plethora of questions I tend to ask. We've arrived at our destination - clarity.

Ever found yourself in the midst of a conversation, where instead of truly listening, you're mentally rehearsing your own reply? We've all worn those shoes, right? It's as if we're actors on a stage, waiting impatiently for our cue to deliver our lines, rather than being a captivated audience member.
This is what's known as listening to reply. And yes, I plead guilty, but I'm learning and refining my skills. By consciously choosing growth, we can avoid this common communication pitfall that can so often pave the way to misunderstandings and strained relationships.

Do you see yourself as someone who truly listens? Now, let's dive a bit deeper: Do you think your partner listens well? Interesting how that question stirs up feelings, doesn't it? I might have opened Pandora's box before we even got to munch on our popcorn. And, speaking of popcorn, I've got a little serving for you at the end of this conversation. But first, let's unpack this. And a quick favor – let's keep this chat between us. We share a common language, a shared understanding. It's not about dropping communication hints, videos, or books into your spouse's lap. I've tried that in my 39 years of marriage, and can you guess the secret sauce? Talk to God. Share your feelings about your communication struggles and ask for a divine touch on your spouse's ability to communicate. It's a foolproof strategy. God knows how to deliver the message, and trust me, you'll hear some pointers for your own growth too. Personal development, after all, is a lifelong commitment.

Who among us is ready to take those divine nudges to heart and commit to personal growth? Heaven, after all, is a journey, not a destination. If you think there are lessons you've missed here, rest assured, there's a divine classroom waiting on the other side.

Finding clarity is like finding a lighthouse in a storm, it brings peace, especially when dealing with life's tougher moments. It's about understanding what aligns with the fundamental principles of your family and relationships and voicing them. It's about identifying what doesn't align, the behaviors that disturb tranquility, respect, and honor. Now, if I were to ask you, "what actions do you regularly take to promote peace in your life?"
What would your answer be?
How do you perceive peace? It's more than just a state of calmness, isn't it?
Let's delve deeper into this. Picture peace as a tranquil garden, free from the noise of conflict or as a serene landscape, untouched by violent storms. It's a state devoid of civil unrest, a mind unburdened by oppressive thoughts and emotions. It's harmony in your personal relationships, like a beautiful symphony.

Just imagine, how much time do you spend glued to your phone, scrolling through social media, texting, emailing, all while the world passes you by?
Even when you're with your loved ones, do you give them your full attention or are you always half in the digital realm? Let's focus on today.
How will you live it? Start by setting a clear intention, a healthy boundary that guides your actions. When your intentions are clear, you can live within them, guiding your day with purpose.
Consider your behavior. Ask yourself, "What am I doing?" I've had to ask myself, "Kristen, why are you acting like that?" Then, once confronted with the truth, take action. Allow a sense of peace to wash over you, to challenge you, to push you to change.
Clarity allows you to check in with yourself, to ask, "Why am I afraid?"
Fear is not something to be hidden away. Shine a light on it, just as God shines a light on our behaviors. God illuminated my son's actions, the way a young girl responded to her mother out of fear, and even my own heart. We learn and grow from these insights, these heavenly perspectives, and use them to advocate for others in the courts of heaven.
Shine a light on your own progress and growth. Show up for yourself and your family will notice. Communicate your growth, say "I'm sorry" when you need to, and make a difference.
Communication is key and it will signal that change has occurred.
Set clear boundaries for what brings you peace, and what disrupts it. Stay firm, shine a light on your fears, your behaviors, and your progress. Remember, growth means being open to change, influenced by others, and willing to adapt.

Let's take a step back and reflect. We're on a journey to tune in more closely, to seek prosperity and peace not just for ourselves but for those around us too.
How are you doing on this journey? Are you lending an ear to your own needs, setting aside distractions to truly focus and be present? It's an act of kindness to oneself. And about those uncertainties that sometimes cloud your peace, have you taken a moment to really understand them? Are they genuine issues or just perceived ones? What's really at the heart of your worries that led you to this episode today?
​Jot it down. Know that you're on a path of growth, building relationships that uplift you and support you. That's where I come in, and I couldn't be happier to have you here.

While they may appear as mere suggestions, these moments of introspection can be game-changers.
If you're yearning for personal clarity, indulge in a solitary walk, or treat yourself with something small yet meaningful.
If family issues cloud your mind, find solitude with God and ask the tough questions. "Why does this area make me so sensitive or upset?" Give voice to your feelings, jot them down, and then confront them.
​You'll be surprised at how often this simple act can resolve the matter.
And should you need to, bring it up with your family. Allocate this conversation in your 'time budget'. This clarity, combined with your dialogue with God, can usher in a new era of understanding and harmony.
