“The reason for the resurrection is that the kingdom of Christ is not to be in heaven entirely. It is to be in this world. And the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is to rule in this world. Consequently, while we live in this world we will need a body like our Lord’s—capable of existence here, and capable of existence over there.” —John G. Lake
Christ was a miracle. Every Christian is a miracle. Every answer to prayer is a miracle. Every divine illumination is a miracle. The power of Christianity in the world is a miraculous power. God help us to realize that ours is a High and Holy Calling.” ― John G. Lake, The Collected Works of John G. Lake Early Life and Spiritual Awakening John G. Lake was born in 1870 in Ontario, Canada, and later moved to the United States. Early in his life, Lake experienced a profound spiritual awakening that would set the course for his destiny. Despite facing personal hardships, including the loss of siblings to illness, Lake's faith was strengthened rather than shaken. This period of adversity laid the foundation for his unwavering belief in the healing power of faith. The Call to Ministry Lake's life took a transformative turn when he was called to ministry. He was deeply inspired by the teachings of John Alexander Dowie and the Pentecostal movement, which emphasized the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Lake felt a profound calling to serve God and spread the message of divine healing. He was convinced that faith could conquer any physical ailment, a conviction that would define his ministry. Boldness and Faith in Action One of the most compelling aspects of Lake's ministry was his boldness. He was known for his fearless approach to faith healing, often demonstrating his belief in God's power in dramatic ways. Lake's ministry was marked by miraculous healings, which he believed were a testament to the living presence of God. His boldness was not only evident in his sermons but also in his actions, as he established healing rooms and pursued missions with unwavering determination. Notable Sermons and Teachings Lake's sermons were characterized by a passionate delivery and profound theological insight. He spoke with authority on topics of faith, healing, and the Holy Spirit. One of his most notable teachings was the concept of "The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus," which emphasized living a life empowered by the Spirit. His teachings encouraged believers to embrace their spiritual authority and live victoriously in Christ. Legacy and Impact John G. Lake's legacy extends far beyond his lifetime. His work laid the groundwork for modern faith healing ministries and inspired countless individuals to pursue a life of bold faith. The healing rooms he established in Spokane, Washington, became a beacon of hope for many, with documented cases of miraculous recoveries. Lake's influence is still felt today, as his writings and teachings continue to inspire new generations of believers. Conclusion John G. Lake was a man of extraordinary faith, whose life and ministry left an indelible mark on the world. Through his boldness, profound teachings, and unwavering belief in the power of God, he transformed the lives of many and set a standard for future generations. As we reflect on his life, let us be inspired to live with the same boldness and faith, trusting in the transformative power of the divine. Hello, beautiful souls! Kristen Wambach here, and I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be coming to you live from the stunning Mount Tabor in Portland for our 200th episode! Yes, you heard that right—200 episodes! So, grab a cozy spot, settle in, and let's soak in this moment together. Behind me, you’ll see one of the historic water reservoirs—it has this majestic castle-like pump station that makes this place feel even more special. The sun is shining, and you can hear the laughter and joy of folks enjoying this beautiful day. It’s simply wonderful! Now, let me take you on a little journey back in time. About 20 years ago, I was here in a chapel, leading worship for a conference. It was a last-minute ask for me to step up from the worship team to lead, and let me tell you, it was a divine encounter like no other. An angel named Michael came and played for me while I led worship—it was phenomenal! I’ve shared that story in the show notes, so be sure to check it out. For the past couple of months, I’ve been asking God where we should celebrate this milestone, and He drew me here, to the top of Mount Tabor. What an honor it is to stand where so many have encountered the love of God before me! I have my trusty book with me—written by Gloria Copeland, it tells the incredible story of John G. Lake. I’ve highlighted a few passages that have truly resonated with me and I can’t wait to share them with you. For those of you tuning in audibly, welcome! We’ve got a video view too, so you can join me live in this beautiful space. John G. Lake was a powerhouse of faith in the early 1900s, and he had a vision of an angel that opened the Bible to the book of Acts, emphasizing the outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost. This angel instructed him to strive for this same outpouring, to teach people to pray for it, because it was the answer to the deepest needs of the human heart. Can you just imagine that moment? I want to share a thought that really struck me. Lake spoke of the Spirit of God as not just an influence but a tangible substance—the very essence of God’s being. It’s powerful to think about the Spirit as something with substance, something that we can truly experience and feel within us. So, I invite you to open your hearts and spirits today. Let’s allow this heavenly substance to flow through us and change us. I know many of us might feel our faith has been put aside, but I believe that God wants to breathe life into it again. As we gather here, I feel the presence of the cloud of witnesses surrounding us—angels and the spirits of those who have gone before us, all encouraging us to share and radiate the love of God. Together, let's invite that divine touch into our hearts and lives. Let’s take a moment to pray together. Lord, being live in this vibrant atmosphere is such a gift. Help us to open our hearts, our ears, and our spirits to truly feel Your presence today. Amen. As we continue, I want to share more about what John G. Lake experienced, how he and his congregation would pray over their newsletters, asking God to fill their words with His Spirit and love. That same Spirit is present here with us now, vibrating within our beings and reaching out to you wherever you are. Thank you for joining me on this beautiful spring day to celebrate our 200th episode together! Let’s embrace this moment and the incredible journey ahead. BINGE LISTEN
The Spirit of God at work in a man goes thousands of miles beyond psychological influence.” ― John G. Lake, Spiritual Hunger, The God-men and Other Sermons Photography of the day: Mount Tabor Portland OregonHistory and Service Reservoirs: The City of Portland built the first two reservoirs on Mount Tabor in 1894, and the last two in 1911. The reservoirs were a vital part of Portland's water system for over a century. Construction timeline
The reservoirs stored drinking water for Portland residents. The water came from the Bull Run watershed, which is located on the western slope of the Cascade Mountain Range. Current status The reservoirs are now decommissioned and are on the National Register of Historic Places. They provide a scenic backdrop to the park. Other notes The reservoirs were built during a time of economic depression, and provided employment for 1,500 workers Substance. Just take a moment to really embrace that beautiful word. Substance is more than just a concept; it’s a tangible presence, something that has mass and energy flowing through it. And guess what? The divine substance, the essence of God, resides within you. I invite you to pause for a moment. If there's an area of your body that’s calling out for healing, or perhaps there’s a project or a person dear to your heart, grab a photo of them. Place your hand gently on the part of your body that needs attention, or rest your hand softly on that photograph. This connection is powerful; it’s been woven into your fate for ages. Picture this: angels are dipping into a wellspring of healing energy, ready to pour it over your loved ones. Maybe it’s your spouse, a dear friend, or even a project you’re pouring your heart into. Whether it’s a book you’re writing or financial struggles you’re facing, just place your hand on your pocketbook, and let’s open ourselves up to this incredible flow. Let’s allow our faith to carry us, letting grace make everything feel effortless as we tap into the substance of God that dwells within us. Feel that energy move through you. If you’re experiencing discomfort in your feet, gently move them. You might notice a warm sensation or a tingling; that’s the healing energy working. If your back is aching, place your hands there and focus on that word: substance. Remember to draw from the inside out, focusing on the core of your being—your structure, your spine, your hips. Take a deep breath in and let it out slowly. And for someone out there, God is reaching out to your ears. This could be for physical healing or perhaps to unlock that idea you’ve been searching for. Maybe it’s the clarity you need for your business or a way to navigate around obstacles that have been blocking your path. Thank you, God, for the movement of your substance through sound, through frequency—it’s real and it’s tangible. We can feel it. Hello, everyone! I’m thrilled to share that today marks the recording of my 200th podcast episode—such a celebration! It’s called "Interviewing Jesus." Simple, right? Enjoy the beautiful weather as you take a moment to appreciate this day. It’s been a true honor to share this space with you, to explore and expand together. Before we wrap up, let me turn my camera around so you can see the stunning park around us, particularly this highest reservoir at Mount Tabor. I’ll include links and more photography in the show notes for you to check out. As we conclude, I want to extend the collective faith of everyone present—our spirits, the angels, and the cloud of witnesses. Together, we’re moving that divine substance. I sense that many of you are feeling it in your digestive systems and your womanly organs. If that resonates, place your hand there and just breathe. Inhale, exhale, and reflect on that word: substance. It’s already within you, moving and expanding, dissolving what needs to be let go, and restoring what needs healing. I bless you in this moment. You and I are living consistently in the embrace of divine love. Live on Location: Mount TaborThe reason for the resurrection is that the kingdom of Christ is not to be in heaven entirely. Mount Tabor: Piano Playing Angel MichaelMay 20, 1920 In May, 1920, John G. Lake moved to Portland, Oregon to start and oversee another Apostolic Church. During this time he had the following vision: He could not sleep so he walked in the shadows of the tall trees in Mount Tabor Park. “Through the park is a footpath coming down through the trees that leads out to the street where we live, and in my vision I was seemingly out in the street, at the foot of this footpath, and as I looked up in the park I was attracted by a quite brilliant light far up in the park. It was very slowly coming down the pathway to the street. I stood somewhat surprised, supposing it was some night man on some duty in the park, probably searching for something or somebody. As it approached I discovered that, instead, it was an angel presence, and the brilliance was an illumination surrounding him. He stood a few feet from me, and said to me, "I have come to answer your prayers. Come with me.” Credit: Portland Vision the birth of Healing Rooms. All right, gather around for some incredible stories! The first one I want to share is what I like to call the "face movement." I was attending a fantastic church in Portland with 6,000 members when a wonderful missionary invited me to a conference focused on the teachings of John G. Lake regarding divine healing. They were sharing his teachings in a conference setting to instruct people on how to lay hands on the sick. This event took place at Warner Pacific University, nestled at the foot of Mount Tabor, which is notable for John G. Lake's encounter with a magnificent angel at its summit. I was part of the worship team, but things weren't quite coming together as planned. By the third day, my dear friend, the conference producer, approached me with a dilemma: the scheduled worship team for the next day couldn't make it. Would I step in? I agreed, but once alone, I turned to God and said, "I need your help." I rushed home to gather my music and notes, then returned to Portland the next day. At Warner Pacific, there's a beautiful chapel, and I asked God to clear it out so I could focus and prepare before leading worship that evening. When I arrived, I discovered a young man in his late twenties playing the piano beautifully. He was incredibly talented! I stepped out of the sanctuary, thinking, "God, I need to get in there; can you move this guy along?" After waiting about 15 minutes, I peeked back in, but he was still there. Realizing I knew every song he was playing, I started singing along, gradually moving closer and singing louder. After two or three songs together, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to ask him to join me for worship. I hesitated, thinking, "God, you want me to assess this person's holiness in moments and invite them to join the team? Are you serious?" Yet, I gathered my courage, asked his name, and discovered he was genuine and eager to help, filling in my own weaknesses in piano playing. His strength enhanced the worship experience, making it truly special. That evening, Michael played beautifully, alongside the conference speakers' two daughters who joined the worship team. The atmosphere was uplifting; I could feel people connecting with the Lord's presence, and I felt incredibly supported. However, after that conference set, I searched for Michael to thank him, but he was nowhere to be found. On the final night, during the last worship set, I scanned the audience and spotted him in the back row, smiling at me. Then, he vanished! Thank you, Jesus, for sending an angel to help and support me; it was simply wonderful.
I was invited to attend a women's conference at Bethel, my first experience there, alongside a large group of spirited women filled with the Holy Ghost. I had the honor of hearing Benny Johnson speak for the first time, where she shared the "wakey wakey" story. In brief, a student from one of the supernatural schools, hailing from Wales, was called by the Lord to visit Mariah Chapel. She recounted her experience to Benny, who then shared it with us. Upon arriving at the chapel, where others were present, the Holy Spirit instructed her to shout, "wakey wakey." But I was filled with excitement. I had just arrived home to our large Victorian house, built in 1872 Corvallis, which was once a 300-acre dairy farm. This has been my favorite home so far, featuring a widow's walk at the top where one could access the roof. Feeling energized, I thought I needed to do something adventurous. However, I hesitated to climb onto the roof because of my quirky neighbor, who might call the police on me. I pondered my options and then realized that we lived only five or six blocks from the high school and the football field. Perfect! I quickly greeted my family, dropped my bags, and announced I had an errand to run. My son Jacob, a musician, looked up and asked, "Mom, where are you going?" I replied, "Just for a quick walk." He pointed out it was past 10 PM and insisted, "Let me grab my skateboard. I’m coming with you!" We made our way to the football field, and to our delight, the chain-link fence was open. The community frequently used the running track, so I stepped inside. It was dark, so I turned off my flashlight and headed toward the 50-yard line, scanning the area for anyone else. I spotted a guy in the corner stretching—he appeared to be a runner. I walked directly to the center of the field, while Jacob practiced some skateboard tricks nearby. It was quiet; Corvallis was asleep, with only a few lights on in the neighborhood. Taking a deep breath, I shouted "Wakey wakey wakey!" as loud as I could three times. I paused, waiting amidst the background snoring. After a minute and a half, I felt a tingle at the back of my neck. Suddenly, I envisioned a tall figure by the football stands—a samurai-like guardian in armor, with his hand on his sheathed sword. He stepped into my view, and I couldn't help but ask for his name. To my surprise, he responded with a name that reflected the very essence of his armor! Caisson. Then, just like that, he vanished. I was ecstatic! I loved the experience and felt a deep connection to it. "Thank God he didn’t have his sword drawn" I thought, as he looked at me with curiosity. My heart soared as I realized I had encountered these magnificent guardian angels in Corvallis, Oregon. Beautiful Binge Listens
Hooray! I told you this would be enjoyable, and I trust you discovered something new while listening. I hope I made you laugh too. Thank you for being present and for your attention—wasn't that fun? It wasn't overly noisy, was it? Perhaps they are just enjoying the moment. I truly appreciate you spending this time with me. I love sharing these life stories about the unseen. There’s nothing to fear when you walk hand in hand with Jesus, as we are seated in heavenly places in Him. We continue to let Him guide us into all truth, allowing us to learn how to rule and reign; He is so good. I encourage you to check the show notes, where I'll include links to what I shared today. Don't forget to pick up the unfinished book and explore the chapter titled "Angels on a First Name Basis" – I know you will be blessed. I cherish this time with you, and I can truly feel the spirit of the earth. Amen! May you have a wonderful rest of your day. Now, as we wrap up—let's consider this like a preacher saying, "We're going to close now." I want to encourage you that while you and I are unique, our spiritual journeys are similar. Everyone has the chance to develop their spiritual senses. No matter where you find yourself on this journey, remember that heaven and all its realms welcome you. Some of us may be at the beginning of the path, others ahead, and some in the middle. Just know that I love you. Until next time, goodbye!

There is no logical way to the discovery of these elemental laws. There is only the way of intuition, which is helped by a feeling for the order lying behind the appearance.—Albert Einstein Good afternoon, how are you today? Thank you for being here with me. Let me take you through a heartfelt story, one brimming with emotion – the kind you can almost touch. It actually reminds me of an encounter from 2014 that Jesus brought to mind. It's amazing how it spans back over a decade, marking 10 years of history. Wow, what were the seasons of your life in 2014?
I'm not sure if you're tuned in, whether you've had a fantastic day, or perhaps you woke up feeling like the universe gave you a kiss, or even had a moment to stretch your legs, take a walk, and savor the fragrance of blooming Verbena in Oregon. The sweet, pungent scent is delightful. Maybe a dear friend from high school called, and you spent an hour reminiscing, laughing, and cherishing your friendship. Join me. Can you say their names out loud?Thank you for my friends: Janice, Margaret, Kari and Suzanne. We appreciate the friendships that walked through our youth. Perhaps today everything fell into place, you checked off all your to-dos, and your employer praised your efforts, or as an entrepreneur, you made some great sales. I thank you for Montauk, New York, Grantsville, Maryland, Victorville, California, Alton, Illinois, and Wake Forest, North Carolina. Let's all visit Wake Forest, North Carolina. The name conjures images of the morning sun breaking through to embrace the day. I don't know if you're listening today because it's one of those moments where I really need to hear from Jesus. I can hear you. Maybe it's a season where I really need to hear from Jesus. Amen. We are in the right place at the right time because the Lord has called us here today; we are invited. the heart of an Entrepreneur. My journal recalls a significant time in my life. Back in 2010, we launched a ministry school. The school's success led to the expansion of our church from a house gathering to leasing an office downtown. During those pioneering days, I didn't draw a salary as a pastor; that's a story for another time. Fueled by my entrepreneurial spirit, I impulsively opened a flower shop nearby, adding a creative and exciting touch to my life. Mum and Sons Flowers was born, conveniently located near the church, allowing me to manage both with ease. The charm of running a flower shop next to a local Starbucks was indeed delightful, reminiscent of scenes from "My Fair Lady." I longed for more foot traffic at this quaint outdoor spot, and the experience was truly wonderful. Fast forward nine months, I found myself at a crossroad, emotionally and financially drained. Like the woman in the Bible with the issue of blood, I made the difficult decision to close down the shop, giving away the remaining products and supplies. As my heart ached and negative thoughts clouded my mind, I pondered if you, my dear friend, are also wrestling with similar struggles. Stay tuned; Jesus has a message for both of us. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover is yourself.—Alan Alda BINGE LISTEN...
Cease trying to work everything out with your minds. It will get you nowhere. Live by intuition and inspiration and let your whole life be Revelation. —Eileen Caddy Divine Zoom ZoomJesus will touch your life today. Kristen, reflect on the challenges you faced where you needed Jesus to intervene in a remarkable supernatural way. This is truly remarkable. I had the privilege of meeting one of my personal angels named Kelsey, symbolizing bravery and being in the right place at the right time. She embodies a heavenly partnership in all aspects of worship and creativity. In a recent podcast episode, Kelsey's angelic presence was highlighted, and she joined the morning Hug brigade. If you missed the episode, I recommend listening to it to fully grasp who Kelsey is. She is not only one of my Hug angels but also a vital support in my journey, offering solace on good days and moments when I deeply seek spiritual connection. I share these personal stories to emphasize that our struggles are not dissimilar to those faced by the woman with the issue of blood in the Bible. Just like her, we may find our healing through faith in Jesus. The church I mentioned still gathers in my home on Sundays and in the homes of its members during the week, fostering a prophetic environment where people learn to encounter Jesus and experience God's love. For those familiar with my podcast or book, the transformative decisions and challenges we've navigated are detailed. Through divine revelations, we've transitioned our church structure, shedding man-made rules and doctrines that required repentance and reform. Similar to Joshua and Caleb exploring the promised land, others encountered fear and change during that pivotal season. My personal encounters with Jesus, captured in my journals as records of heaven, fill me with gratitude. I share this profound journey with you.
As soon as her hand touched him, her bleeding immediately stopped! She knew it, for she could feel her body instantly being healed of her disease! Jesus knew at once that someone had touched him, for he felt the power that always surged around him had passed through him for someone to be healed. He turned and spoke to the crowd, saying, “Who touched my clothes?” Mark 5:25-30 TPT These are defining moments for us, since Christ suffered our judgment in his innocence, thus leaving us a perfect example. In this way, our attitude in bearing insults we do not deserve, reveals the grace of God to the ones mistreating us. He never said or did anything wrong. Even when they heaped abuse upon him, he never retaliated; he suffered much, but never threatened; instead he fully yielded himself to the righteous judgment of God; which is God declaring the unjust righteous because of what Christ has done. In his person he bore our sins in his own body upon the tree and thus 1brought closure to every distorted pattern of sin’s influence upon us; we were made alive unto righteousness; we were healed by the blows he took in his body. 1 Peter 2:21-24 Mirror. 1Who has believed our message? To whom has the Lord revealed his powerful arm? 2My servant grew up in the Lord’s presence like a tender green shoot, like a root in dry ground. There was nothing beautiful or majestic about his appearance, nothing to attract us to him. 3He was despised and rejected-- a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. 4Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! 5But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. 6All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the Lord laid on him the sins of us all. Isaiah 53: 1-6 NLT When peace like a river attended my way When sorrows like sea billows roll Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say It is well, it is well, with my soul It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought My sin, not in part but the whole Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh, my soul It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) It is well, it is well with my soul And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight The clouds be rolled back as a scroll The trumpet shall sound and the Lord shall descend Even so, it is well with my soul It is well (it is well) With my soul (with my soul) Oh it is well, it is well with my soul It is well with my soul Song by Horatio G.
