And my husband pulls out and goes forward and he says, "Kristen, look now remember where I am. All of life, three years of work seems to be right here, right now." Oh my gosh. We we all go, "Oh, is this really going to work? Are we going to get there? Are we going to get the breakthrough? Are we going to right swim up river and actually make it there?" Right. And so he looks up and there is a vintage marquee. It's called the Midway Marquee. Old vintage marquee for a movie theater up on the building. And this is what it says: "Don't you wish you could open a book, spines played, pages fluttering, heft it above your head, so the pages turn into wings as you clutch its covers front and back and let it lift you up, up, up." Amen. Amen. I had goosebumps and tears and everything all over me. Now, that lovely poem is written by Anne Farley, a poet from Beaverton, and she won the Midway Marquee 2026 award. But the timing, the timing was perfect. And that's how good God is. Amen. He makes a big to-do about our to-do. He puts it up in lights. He puts it directly in the path that we normally walk. And that's something that I really want to talk about because we get in these valleys to where we can't remember one blessing God has ever done for us. And we're in that woe is me state. Even David did it. The lament, but he always came out. So Kristen, give us some more about what this new book is and how this is going to serve women and their identity.
5:38 | Kristen Wambach: Yay. Yay. Yay. Oh, can I tell you just the most recent really cool miracle encouragement thing that happened to me the other day?
5:49 | Tonya Gioia: Yes. Yes. Yes.
5:51 | Kristen Wambach: So, been writing the book work work typos typos typos and and putting download information and they say you have this problem and this problem and this problem. And I'm sure that we can all actually relate with being overflowed with life.
6:13 | Tonya Gioia: Yes.
6:14 | Kristen Wambach: Totally overflowed with life. We all have goals, desires, and dreams. And all of a sudden, you go, "Oh, is all my work making a difference? Is my attitude and my intent about life making a difference?" And that's right where I was with the the book. You know, a week out, we're going to hit the publish button and everything. And I go, "Oh my gosh, this is so much work, God." Just like we get with our families and so much work. God, are we changing? Are we changing the needle in life? And so my husband was feeling a little overwhelmed by my focus and intent. I'm sure other women out there, you know, the US leadership and strongminded world changers can relate, right? And my husband's a foodie. So, we have a favorite little hub spot here in Corvallis called Luca Tavern that we go and and they prepare food from the garden and the field and is is just wonderful. So, my husband's always talking with the owner about this lamb taco recipe and and you know, he's talking food. Well, I knew my husband was a little bit overdue to do a foodie thing to get his little juices going.

7:50 | Kristen Wambach: And so I said, "Well, let's let's do this." And so we offered to bring in his recipe of lamb tacos to serve the the the work crew at the restaurant so he could talk food. I knew that would just be his cup of tea since everything has been about the book. So, he buys the groceries, makes them. He's just so happy doing it. And we're going, it's 5:00, they open at 5. We got to get there before the dinner rush so that the the the team can enjoy it. And we're kind of, you know, not getting in their way. And so, he brings it in and the owner goes, "Wow, I I didn't think you'd follow through." Oh. Huh. And so everyone's eating the lamb tacos and my husband's all his endorphins, the foodie endorphins are just going off and the the the the head chef goes like this. Thumbs up out of the kitchen so my husband has a smile from ear to ear. Right.

11:18 | Tonya Gioia: And it's his timing. Let me give you my verse because it matches yours. "If you bow low in God's awesome presence, he will exalt you as you leave the timing in his hands." First Peter 5:6. Like you said, this was perfect timing. You knew your husband needed something. You were finishing the book. And here is God saying, "Yes, yes, yes." Mhm.
11:48 | Kristen Wambach: And it it it just warms my heart and that's the reason why I wrote the book because God is goodter. That's my better goodter. I got little quote little quote fingers going up. God is goodter than our current bandwidth about him.
12:11 | Tonya Gioia: Yes. And that's what we see from David all the time. He's like, "My enemy this and my enemy that and this and this and this and this and this." And he always brings it back to how good God is. Can't you just see God surrounding him and saying, "I got this, David. I got it."
12:28 | Kristen Wambach: Yeah. And God didn't spend time focusing on David's weaknesses, David's trials. He just didn't spend time focusing on them. He just kind of went, "Well, how's that working out for you?" And then they moved on. I mean, he didn't say there's no approval there, but he just kind of said, "How's that working for you?"
12:56 | Tonya Gioia: Yes. Well, and the secular world, unfortunately, or fortunately, is doing it better than we are. "Where your attention goes is where your energy flows" is one of their sayings, right? And think on good things and don't think on the negative things. Well, what does the Bible tell us? Think on what is noble and what is true. We as Christians, which I'm sure you're going to tell us about this book is bringing, need to say, hey, I can be happy in plenty and want and nobody can take my joy. Nobody can take that. So tell us a little bit more about what we're going to find in the book and what we're going to enjoy thumbing through the pages.
13:40 | Kristen Wambach: Yay. Yeah. Yay. So the whole title is How Good is God! Beyond the Gates of Hell to Truly Experience Heaven. Mhm. I have had a tremendous amount of experiences in the lower realms of the earth and those experiences have testimonies that have changed people's lives on the earth.
14:18 | Tonya Gioia: Mhm.
14:19 | Kristen Wambach: And so when I say God's goodness, our idea of God's goodness, we put it in a box. We put it in a time frame and we forget how much a Father loves us. We forget how much a Father prepared for his kids before he let them out the door. And God is goodter. He's better than how we've experienced him.
14:54 | Tonya Gioia: For those that are in that struggle right now, for those that are saying, "I can't I can't see it." What what's what's a promise that that God has brought to you? What's a promise that has brought you out of a situation?
15:13 | Kristen Wambach: To believe what Jesus tells me, to believe what Jesus shows me. To believe it, meaning I perceive it. Now, God opened my spiritual eyes about 20 years ago, which totally changed my life. It is a gift for every person, not just the nuts, fruits, flakes spiritual ones. Not them. It's for everybody. Everybody's spiritual senses are to be developed. So when you have an encounter with God, some of us, the encounter begins by reading in the Bible and he highlights a scripture. For me, I'm reversed. I have this encounter where Jesus takes my spirit, my heart to a place in him. And then when that's completed, I go, "Excuse me, can can you give me a little bit of uh help on this?" And then he'll say, "Go look over here." And I go, "Thank you." Now I feel, oh, I'm hanging hanging on here, but we need to believe what he tells us and what he shows us.
16:31 | Tonya Gioia: What do you do when you question that? When you're like, "That can't be truth. That can't be for me. That's that's not yeah, that just can't happen."
16:48 | Kristen Wambach: Then I ask Jesus to show me. And what follows through with him, if it's a concept, if it's a perception, if it's a dream, if it's a desire, and here it comes: Jesus puts it on my table of communion, and I go, "Um, can you show me how this works?" Always ask him for an example. Sometimes he'll take you into the Gospels. Here's my example. This is what it felt like to me. Jesus's humanity gives us great courage because he was 100% human. And so you ask him questions from that. "Jesus, what did that feel like when, you know, you were just about ready to be on the cross, all your friends and Peter—here goes that rooster crows three times and everybody just goes, 'Huh? I don't know who this guy is.' What did that feel like?" And those times that we get in relationships or situations and circumstances that we want to discount our feelings instead of talking about our feelings with the Lord and letting him be human with us and saying, "I really understand what you're going through. I can relate to it here."
18:30 | Tonya Gioia: Give us an example of that. Give us a concrete example because I think that's where we we fall short and we're afraid to share those heavy feelings.
18:44 | Kristen Wambach: So in my journeys in the lower realms of the earth, okay, God um and who does this? Is this legal? Do you know what he said to me? He says, with this legal, he goes, "What did I do? What did I do when I was in the tomb for three days?" He went into the lower realms of the earth to take captivity captive and get the keys to the kingdom. So if Jesus can do it, we can do it. So no longer can I question, "Am I supposed to be here?" because his humanity and who he is clearly says he experienced it. And that is the best theology you will ever engraft into your body—what Jesus experienced.
19:46 | Tonya Gioia: So when I'm feeling abandoned, we're talking about the cross, abandoned, alone, my family is off doing things that don't make sense, I just got fired from my job... you know, things are emotionally just upside down and I can't think of what to ask. What do you do?
20:10 | Kristen Wambach: Ask him just like that. Say, "I don't know what to ask you. Can you help me?" Or, "I'm so angry. I don't know which way to turn. And in fact, I'm angry at you, God." Who hasn't been angry at God?
20:30 | Tonya Gioia: I don't think any of us have not been angry at God. It's just the fear of bringing that into the realm. If you were brought up in a teaching or something, when we say God is good, is there room for that anger? Is there room for frustration?
20:47 | Kristen Wambach: Can I tell you my hundred diamond story, please?
20:51 | Tonya Gioia: Oh my gosh. This is right in there. Yes, please.
20:53 | Kristen Wambach: Years ago, so Jesus opened my spiritual eyes. That means yes, I can see in the spirit. I can see angels. I can see the other cohorts if I look there. I can experience other realms, and he's continued to develop that. That is something that's a gift for each one of us. And so I'm getting all these spiritual gifts. We get keys, we get swords, we get this and we get that all in the spirit. We write it down and we go, "Oh, yay, God." And we get crowns. And we get robes. And all this stuff's coming and our prophetic words: "Oh, you're getting this and you're getting this and you're getting this." It's all this spiritual, intangible stuff. You know, hello. That's right where I was.
And I was visiting with God, with Jesus, in what I call this blue farmhouse. And I'd go there every day and I'd sit in the upstairs room and he'd teach to me and talk to me and we'd experience things. And all of a sudden, all these spiritual gifts and, you know, that high-end sight—some people might call it deja vu—but sometimes when you know what's going to happen before it's going to happen... and this is one of those days and I knew that Jesus was going to give me a gift and I knew exactly what it was. I knew how, and I'd had all these spiritual gifts, right? And I was like, this is just overwhelming.
And he comes walking down the stairs and in this house there was this little wall safe. He reaches into the wall safe and grabs this gift and it is a leather pouch. It looks like a jeweler's pouch.
22:51 | Tonya Gioia: Mhm.
22:51 | Kristen Wambach: And he goes to hand it to me. And I am pissed off. I am so pissed off. I yelled at him in heaven on earth and on my prayer pillow. I screamed at him. I said, "I don't want one more spiritual gift if I can't get it here." My life changed that day because he knew I'd come to that point to where the spirit, the unseen, is to manifest here. And I needed to get to that point that these are real attributes and real benefits that he is bestowing and giving us. Inside that jeweler's pouch was a hundred diamonds.
23:49 | Tonya Gioia: Wow.
23:51 | Kristen Wambach: And I didn't receive it that day. I didn't take it cause I was so angry at him. But he took me at my word, even through anger, because he knew the intent of my heart wasn't the expression of the emotion, but that, "I believe you, God. I believe what's in the unseen is manifestable." Oh, I don't word goodter—manifestable. Okay, well, language to Kristen. So, um, that it's got a tangible sense to be opened and experienced on the earth.
24:45 | Tonya Gioia: When did you receive it? When were you really able to absorb that these were going to be something on the earth?
24:58 | Kristen Wambach: Well, that was just my experience of coming to that point of, "Okay, God, what I'm experiencing with you is either real or it's not. But I don't like being closed off. I don't like being by myself. I don't like you telling me things that I cannot share openly with others because that's just no fun."
25:25 | Tonya Gioia: No, and you were released that day to share over a period of time because it changed.
25:32 | Kristen Wambach: So the way he talked to me changed because he said, "Oh, she wants to know how to bring it here." So you get a key in the spirit. So a key is not something you're supposed to put on a chain and wear it around your neck that I had a key from God. No, a key opens and closes. It can open. It can lock. It opens something. It is attached to something, a threshold that you go through.
26:03 | Tonya Gioia: Mhm.
26:04 | Kristen Wambach: And that day, all of a sudden, he changed how he spoke to me and showed me how to use the keys, how to open the doors, how to go in through a threshold, how to perceive what was in that environment, that realm, and then how to bring it here.
26:29 | Tonya Gioia: To what what came of that? How are you able to serve yourself and serve others by being able to use those keys? All right, all right. We got to tell a story from the book. All right.
26:50 | Kristen Wambach: Years and years ago. Years ago, this is in the book. There's lots of treasures in there. How many of us have a first love? Mine was in high school.
27:10 | Tonya Gioia: Yeah, first love. I mean, smitten.
27:14 | Kristen Wambach: We were just an item for six months, which seems like forever in high school.
27:19 | Tonya Gioia: Of course, that is forever in high school. Three weeks is a long time.
27:25 | Kristen Wambach: And my heart—that was my first love. So much history, so many things that we discovered together. And life pulled us apart. But you never forget your first love. I can't tell you how many times that God would remind me through that first love, put him in my dreams to talk about himself to me.
27:59 | Tonya Gioia: Mhm.
28:02 | Kristen Wambach: And so one day, one day, my best girlfriend from high school contacts me. I think it was Facebook, and she says, "Kristrissy, I think you should know. I think you'd want to know this, but Randy committed suicide." Oh, I did want to know that. Yeah. And so upon knowing that, I'd already had the experience—I'm leaving portions out of the story—I'd already had the experience in the lower realms of the earth. I had already walked with my Lord to where he went to take captivity captive. I'd already experienced what it was like in the tomb, what it was like when his body rose and he folded his head linen.
29:17 | Tonya Gioia: Mhm.
29:19 | Kristen Wambach: So I already have this experience, this language, this conversation with my Lord, and this happens. I knew that I knew that God's goodness is so far past that we need to rewrite the doctrines that have encapsulated us in death. So when my friend told me that he had committed suicide, I knew that he was not in heaven, and I also knew that God was asking me to go get him. Now, I know it stretches you. That's why you need to read the book so you can see the path. But the thing is, God is so good that he puts that truth in there just because somebody makes an error. Even an error with life, his goodness is not stopped because they made a choice that was wrong. And I think maybe I should leave the story right there.
31:00 | Tonya Gioia: Oh, come on. I want to know what happened. But that's picking up the book, right? Picking up.
31:04 | Kristen Wambach: Well, it is. You know, you can already tell where the story is going to go. Yes. Did I go into the lower realms of the earth and run into Randy? Absolutely I did. And it was the most life-altering, awesome experience. This is the Jesus that I am following. This is the big dude. This is how good God is. Now, this is not the punishing, angry, "You've done wrong, I can't help you" God. This is the God who saves. Saves. The God, as I said earlier, he's a Father who prepared for his children before he sent us out the door. There's nothing that can separate us from the love of God. Nothing. Not even our own wish to be separated.
32:07 | Tonya Gioia: Right. Right.
32:20 | Kristen Wambach: And I'll tell you, before I went to that particular portion in the lower realms of the earth, Jesus had already taken me to the field of blood, which is where Judas expired himself after he disappointed himself, disappointed his Lord, and took his own life. Jesus shows us and teaches us and takes us on a path. Everything that is experienced in the Bible, everything that he did, every parable that he shared—those are all stories for us to immerse ourselves and walk with him in it. They're living.
33:14 | Tonya Gioia: They're living. So to find the rest of the story, you have to get the book. It reminds us how beautiful God is. Yes. Is there a verse or two that centers the book for you?
34:10 | Kristen Wambach: I didn't pull that one up. I pulled lots of them up, but not that one up. Centers the book... I'm looking at it. Where is... I was just saying the scripture that nothing can separate us from the love of God, and I am not good with addresses.
34:45 | Tonya Gioia: Yes, I hear you.
34:47 | Kristen Wambach: But no principality, no power, no angel, no demon, no time frame, nothing invented now, nothing to be invented in the future...
35:07 | Tonya Gioia: It's Paul writing to the Romans 8:31-39. "But nothing can separate us from the love of God. Can anything ever separate us from Christ's love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity or are persecuted or hungry or destitute or in danger or threatened with death? As scripture says, for your sake, we were all killed every day. We are being slaughtered like sheep. No, no. Despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ who loved us." So it's similar to... well, he goes on to say, "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God's love. Neither death nor life, nor angels nor demons, nor fears for today nor worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God's love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below. Indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." And that's 38. Romans 8:38.
36:28 | Kristen Wambach: Paul. My my other scripture is Romans 8:2. But that particular scripture, if nothing can separate us from the love of God, am I willing to allow him to show me all the things that I might have thought were nothing?
36:47 | Tonya Gioia: Yes. Yes.
36:47 | Kristen Wambach: Am I willing to eat from the table he provides rather than wanting the slave food that I think I want back in Egypt?
36:56 | Tonya Gioia: Right. I think I want the junk, but really it's just I don't have the taste for the heavenly banquet yet.
37:06 | Kristen Wambach: And my other scripture in Romans 8 says, "The law of the Spirit of life has set me free from the law of sin and death." So the law of the Spirit of life has repealed everything. Repealed, removed everything—sin, death, and all their cohorts that hang out with sin and death. Repealed, removed by the law of the Spirit of life.
37:37 | Tonya Gioia: Life. Is there anywhere that that law, that love of God, cannot reach?
37:45 | Kristen Wambach: No. David says, "Even if I go down into Sheol, you will be there too." Absolutely. He's an all-consuming fire, is he not?
37:54 | Tonya Gioia: Absolutely. So when you need to peel something off of you, or ask for it to be peeled off, really, what do you pray?
38:11 | Kristen Wambach: I don't know that I actually pray. I actually have the conversation of why I'm struggling with what needs to be peeled off, why I'm not willing to surrender it, why I'm not willing to let it go.
38:29 | Tonya Gioia: Well, many times we can't even identify the "I am not."
38:35 | Kristen Wambach: Yes, great point. Exactly.
38:35 | Tonya Gioia: "I feel off. I feel out of kilter. Things are not connecting and I don't even know why."
38:44 | Kristen Wambach: And that's the conversation to have—what you're feeling, what you're experiencing, so that he can show us or unpack that. And many times, the type of person that I tend to be—strong-willed, strong focus, intent—if I don't talk about what I'm feeling, Holy Spirit will get after me, after me because I'm stuffing it. And he says, "Uh-uh. If you stuff it, if you suck it up, you are not allowing me to be the comforter."
39:27 | Tonya Gioia: That's pretty clear. I mean, we often hide our emotions, but there's no reason to hide your emotions with Jesus. Whether you journal it out, talk it out, pray it out—absolutely, dance it out—doesn't matter how you do it. It's a matter of—he already knows. You need to know.
39:49 | Kristen Wambach: Yes. And that in itself is by him showing what is entangling me. Many times in the showing, I can step out of it without ever feeling like, "Oh, I'm taking this off and I'm going to surrender it, and I'm going to fast and I'm going to pray for this many days." It removes it from that because he reminds you, "Kristen, this isn't you. I didn't give you this label. That has nothing to do with you." And when he shows you you, because he always is talking from who you are... when he shows you how something might get embedded in you, around you, in the atmosphere, in relationships, in choices, then it is so much easier to separate yourself from its effects and make changes because he is talking to who you really are, not to who we think we are or who we shame. And we talked about this last time—shame ourselves into, because for some reason we think that shame will bring us closer into perfection. That's such a twisted statement, but it certainly is a feeling of, "If I persecute myself enough, then maybe I will change." It's so opposite of the kingdom.
41:34 | Tonya Gioia: It's opposite of the kingdom. God doesn't come in—and you can look at it in all of his walk on the earth—he didn't shame anybody. He got angry, but he didn't go into shame. Mhm.
41:54 | Kristen Wambach: A good prayer would be, "God, how good are you in this situation?" Amen. That's pretty simple. "God, how good are you in this situation?" And just to let it fall around you. If we really don't know, then it's his responsibility to show us.
42:22 | Tonya Gioia: Yeah. And it just takes all the work out of it. We just get to be. And you could do it when the car doesn't start, when the kids are screaming, when dinner's not getting on the table, when things are totally falling apart: "God, how good are you in this situation?" Isn't that where you make pancakes? I'm going to make pancakes later today.
42:48 | Kristen Wambach: That is where you make pancakes. That's where you make pancakes. Absolutely. Absolutely. When you say, "Hey, we're going to gather around the table and celebrate how good God is." Uh-huh. It's amazing.

The Monday-Morning Activation

When the car won't start, the kids are screaming, or circumstances are completely upside down, you don't need a dense theological argument. You need a practical tool that works. What you dwell on determines where your energy and renewal go.
