The Tomato Garden Story
Question 1: An Intimate Moment with God
"Most of us have been taught that walking with God looks like being yoked to an ox, staring down at dry, unbroken ground, straining to plow a field that never seems finished. For years, in my own heart, I felt that exhaustion. I was carrying the weight of manufacturing outcomes, always feeling as if the harvest were somewhere off in the distant future.
Then the Lord brought me into an intimate encounter that completely dismantled that strain.
He didn't hand me a heavier plow. Instead, He showed me a pristine, vibrant garden. I was sitting down on a wooden stool, wearing a simple straw hat, reaching out to pick heavy, ripe tomatoes that had been meticulously staked. The fruit was already fully mature, ready for the table right now.
And then I saw Jesus right there next to me. We weren't sweating under a heavy harness; we were sharing a simple family basket, picking the harvest together. He had a clipboard tucked under His arm, pointing out toward the horizon at the vineyards and fields.
In that moment, I realized what true intimacy is. It is not standing outside of God, looking at how huge His faith is and letting our human limitations scream 'BUT' in fear. It is stepping into Oneness—stepping inside His countenance, looking out through His eyes, and seeing what He sees.
In ancient Hebrew, the Bread of the Presence is called Lechem HaPanim—the 'Bread of the Face.' It sat perpetually in the sanctuary, absorbing the direct light of God's gaze. Jesus is the Bread of Life who lived in that constant gaze, and in our Oneness with Him, we now occupy that exact same position. When we look from inside His face, the delay vanishes. We stop striving to create a harvest and simply step into the joy of gathering what His goodness has already completed."
Question 2: An Amazing Answer to Prayer

"My answered prayer was the immediate collapse of religious delay.
I had prayed so often, 'Lord, help me plow this ground. Help me finish the work so something can grow.'

But John 4:35 in the Mirror Bible says:

I want to show you the real harvest. From now on, look at people differently; see them through your Father’s eyes, and you will know that they are ripe and ready to discover how perfectly mirrored they are in me.' |
The answer to my prayer wasn't more stamina to pull a plow; the answer was a complete shift in sight. Jesus canceled every definition of delay. He showed me that the harvest is a 'Now' reality. Romans 4:17 reminds us that Abraham was faced with God's faith—the kind of faith that calls things that are not visible yet as though they were.
