Summary: Craig D. Hutt, co-founder of Apian Media, merges his passion for storytelling with faith-driven content to engage audiences globally. Since 2015, Apian Media has produced award-winning series and educational materials, emphasizing accuracy, quality, and free access. Inspired by the ancient Appian Way, Craig uses modern ‘roadways’ like the internet to spread the Gospel. His personal journey, marked by resilience and faith, fuels his mission to make biblical teachings vivid and relatable. Through immersive visuals and heartfelt storytelling, Craig continues to connect hearts to the transformative power of Scripture. In a world inundated with fleeting content, Apian Media stands as a beacon, reconnecting hearts to the timeless stories of the Bible. At the forefront of this mission is Craig Dehut, a seasoned freelance video producer whose passion for faith-driven media has touched countless lives. Founded in 2015 alongside Stuart Peck, Apian Media was born from a shared concern: the diminishing interest in biblical teachings among the youth. Determined to bridge this gap, Craig and Stuart envisioned content that was not only engaging and accurate but also freely accessible. This triad became Apian Media’s cornerstone—accuracy, professional quality, and free access.
Craig’s journey began long before Apian Media. Living in Indianapolis with his wife Karen and their three children, Craig’s personal and professional life intertwines seamlessly. Homeschooling his kids, he’s driven by a desire to provide them—and by extension, countless others—with content that nurtures faith. His background in television news, small production companies, and a deep love for documentary filmmaking laid the foundation for Apian Media’s success. The name "Apian Media" holds profound significance. Inspired by the ancient Roman road system—the Appian Way—it symbolizes connection. Just as these roads facilitated the rapid spread of the Gospel in the first century, Apian Media harnesses modern ‘roadways’ like the internet to disseminate biblical truths, even reaching countries where traditional evangelism faces barriers.

Craig’s storytelling transcends mere visuals. Documentaries like Out of Egypt and Following the Messiah are more than historical recounts—they’re immersive experiences. Through meticulous research and on-location filming in Israel, Egypt, Turkey, and Jordan, Apian Media breathes life into the scriptures. Craig emphasizes that the Bible is designed to ignite our imaginations. By presenting accurate, vivid visuals, Apian Media helps modern readers grasp the geographical, historical, and cultural contexts that the original audiences inherently understood. Filming internationally, however, comes with challenges. From navigating customs with expensive equipment to adapting to unpredictable local conditions, each production trip is a testament to faith, perseverance, and teamwork. Yet, it’s within these hurdles that Craig often feels the profound presence of God, guiding and providing in unexpected ways.

Craig’s personal journey is equally inspiring. Diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes at age 10, he grappled with existential questions early on. Yet, through this challenge, he discovered resilience. His experience even enabled him to mentor a young diabetic at a summer camp—transforming a personal struggle into a source of encouragement for others. Looking ahead, Apian Media envisions expanding its impact. The goal is to create a comprehensive Bible curriculum for young people, blending engaging videos, interactive workbooks, and immersive visuals. This curriculum aims to make biblical learning relevant and captivating for future generations. Craig’s story is a powerful reminder that faith, like storytelling, is a journey. Through Apian Media, he continues to touch hearts, inspire minds, and bring the Gospel to life for millions. Live RecordingYou're the anchor in my storm."
During my Junior high school years, a couple of brothers moved from California to our little podunk country town of Independence. They were bleach blonde, tan, tall and cute as a button. During the harvest months: A girl friend and I, "on the boyfriend hunt" invited them out to our farm to tour and crawl through a massive hay fort my brothers and the local church group had built. Hay was stacked from floor to ceiling and end to end of the barn. There were tunnels, drops, climbs and little nooks and crannies to hide in. Great for scarring the next unsuspecting hay fort crawlers, and maybe steal a "CALIFORNIA" kiss or two along the way. LOL On that day, crawling on hands and knees, crawling, following each other, head to butt, my period started. I had white pants on! Need I say more, ARGH! EMBARRASSING!
