Feel free to send in your questions – ask them with an open mind, and I'll do my very best to tune in and hear them so we can have a truly lovely conversation together. Speaking of journeys, I was recently reminded of a pivotal moment in my life, one that still feels incredibly vivid. It was during a time when I was working at a PR agency, and the topic of life coaching came up. Little did I know, the universe was about to deliver a message in a way I could never have imagined. Suddenly, it felt as if the ceiling above me opened up. Clouds gently rolled out, and on one of them rested a book. This wasn't just any book; it seemed to burst open, its pages fanning out right before my eyes, as if revealing every answer I had ever sought. It was an undeniable moment. I knew, deep down, that something profound had shifted. I had received a call, a clear direction for my path. Interestingly, at that time, I was also deeply involved in a four-year spiritual practitioner program, on my way to becoming a spiritual counselor. The very next day, I found myself in a meeting with my minister, trying to articulate this surreal experience. "Okay," I began, "so the ceiling opened up, a cloud appeared, a book was on it... you know, the whole thing. The book shot open, then went back on the cloud and disappeared back into the ceiling. Hello?" What followed was a profound sense of knowing, a download of information that felt like the answer to every question I had ever held. And along with it came a clear instruction: this knowledge was meant to be shared. Now, as many of you know, being told to do something doesn't automatically equate to feeling ready or capable. Doubt crept in. I remembered leaving college with just three credits shy of graduating. How could I possibly step into a role where I would guide others? Surely, I needed to finish my bachelor's, pursue a master's and a PhD, perhaps even write a book. In my mind, I wouldn't be "ready" for at least another seven to ten years. I shared these reservations with my minister, but her response was unwavering: "You got the call. When you get the call, you're ready." I pushed back, my past experiences feeling like insurmountable obstacles. "No, you don't understand," I insisted. "Don't you remember? I was an alcoholic. I had DUIs, suicide attempts, all of that. I need to do so much more work on myself before I could ever even speak about these things." She continued to offer her affirmation, a gentle but persistent nudge. It took many months for me to truly surrender to that calling, to say yes. At that time, I was still heavily influenced by the belief that my past defined my future, that I couldn't transcend the difficult experiences I had navigated, often poorly. I didn't see myself as a role model. How could I possibly tell people about this profound download and then essentially say, "Listen to God through me, but maybe don't look too closely at my own life"? But eventually, I did surrender. It wasn't easy, but I finally took that leap of faith. And here I am today. It's a journey that continues, with gentle nudges from the universe along the way. And yes, you're right, the universe certainly has its own way of guiding us!
