Take care of you first. That is most important because when you take care of you, you have more energy, more flow, more restraint, more collectiveness, more balance to do your day." —Kristen Wambach Hey there, family! I hope this message finds you wrapped in the warmth and joy of the holiday season. We are pulling out the bells and whistles today to gain a little extra balance because, let’s be honest, are you seeing any signs of stress? I have a little funny story that happened just last week while my pumpkin pies were in the oven. We were stuffing the turkey at my mom's house when her 17-year-old terrier showed up on the porch covered in mud. I thought, "No problem, let me go wipe her off so she can come in." But as I was wiping her, the thought hit me: this isn't just regular mud. She had taken a little adventure into the cow field and was totally covered in cow poo! Oh, my goodness. Now, sometimes life just throws us a few curve balls, even during the holidays. Today, we are locked and loaded with two powerful points, including a yummy meditation you can revisit throughout the season. So let's open our toolbox—we're going to be empowered! Highlight Subjects
🔑 Two Easy Points for Stress-Busting Let's do some stress busting early, early, early. Here are two easy points for you: Number One: Take Care of You First. I know we get busy, but keep the habit. Take care of you first thing every day. Don't let your self-care take a back seat this month. Check it off first thing in the morning. Drink plenty of water. Stretch. Go take a walk. Take care of you first. That is most important because when you take care of you, you have more energy, more flow, more restraint, more collectiveness, and more balance to do your day. Let me add a couple of relieving stress options. A couple of weeks ago, I started to stretch before I went to bed. It’s wonderful. It opens up my body to relax. Easy, gentle stretches and deep breathing, twisting out your back and turning your neck, just so all the energies of the day can be released. We descend into a peaceful night's sleep. Activation: Sitting at the Table with Jesus Sometimes, don't you find yourself tired, but there's still more of the day to accomplish? I have something so good for you. I want you to find a cozy place to recline. Set aside about 10 minutes. You can set a timer for about 10 minutes. We're just going to enter into His presence together. Close your eyes and breathe in and out through your nose. In your mind's eye, step into the Spirit. Jesus takes your hand, and we step into the Kingdom of Heaven with Him. Imagine a country lodge. It’s snowing outside. A fire is cracking in the fireplace. There's a huge dining table set in the center, and Christmas stockings—an odd collection, personalized by Jesus for His family—are hung on the mantle. You are included. Now, sit down at the table with Jesus. Acknowledge His invitation. Allow your spirit to see Him. His smile is intoxicating; He is so delighted to meet with you. He asks you to share communion with Him. Before serving the bread, Jesus reaches into His shirt pocket and pulls out a small vial. He says, "Here in this bottle is where I’ve collected every one of your tears. No prayer, emotion, concern, or tear do I ever misplace." He asks you to write out one concern on the notepad beside you. When finished, you rip it out and stick it in His heart pocket, right next to the vial of tears. He smiles and says, "The room feels lighter, doesn't it? Nothing is impossible while sitting in the love of God." Then, He breaks the bread—His broken body, all the nutrients you need for life, joy, and wellness. He picks up your empty wine glass, picks up His own, and pours its entire contents into yours. "Drink this. Feel it burst in your mouth... This is My love, which is poured out continuously for you. Whatever needs filling, healing, transforming, I will fill." Number Two: Peaceful You. Prioritize the day. What is at the top of the list that brings you the most peace? For me, my house being a Christmas decorating bomb dislocates my organizational dingers. When I listen to my spirit, I’m told: take care of the root cause, and the rest of the day will smooth itself out. For me, messiness and clutter was a root cause that made me touchy and irritated, where overwhelm seemed to come and camp out. When we prioritize the root cause, even for 10 minutes a day (like working on the decorating), it leaves us feeling empowered and makes our day peaceful. a FESTIVE WATCH LIVE RECORDINGChapters 00:00 Holiday Stress Relief and Encouragement: Spiritual Balance and Awareness 04:41 Christian Self-Care During the Holidays: Why Prioritizing You is Essential 06:33 10-Minute Activation: Communion Meditation and Spiritual Connection 16:26 Finding Peace: Prioritizing Tasks and Addressing the Root Cause of Stress 19:19 Unwrapping CALM: A Festive Introduction to Your Stress-Less Toolkit 21:14 CALM - C: Cherishing the Moment (How to Embrace the Present Moment) 24:01 CALM - A: Attuning to Joy (Finding Happiness and Celebrating Small Wins in Chaos) 27:00 CALM - L: Letting Go of Perfection (Embracing Imperfection and Lowering Standards) 35:44 CALM - M: Mindful Giving (The Heart of the Holiday Spirit & Thoughtful Gestures) This message provides two vital points for stress-busting: first, prioritizing personal self-care, and second, finding peace by addressing root causes of stress.
