I am my Father’s son, my wife’s husband, and my son’s father. Nobody can fire me from those titles." —David Nassief
Rewriting Your Story: From Rock Bottom to Seven-Figure Legacy with David Nassief 279 Interviewing Jesus Podcast with Spiritual Investigative Journalist Kristen Wambach
At age 63, David Nassief was handed a cardboard box and told his corporate career was over. Standing on a sidewalk with a bank account whispering failure, he faced a choice: succumb to the frequency of fear or lean into the C♡♡Lness of God’s provision. David chose to build. What followed was a Spiritually BRAVE six-year sprint that took him from that sidewalk to a seven-figure legacy by age 69.

This isn't just a conversation about money; it’s a practical path for anyone sitting in a "middle space." David joins me to pull the curtain back on the "Monday-morning" logic that allowed him to shed the corporate straightjacket and start presiding over his divine calling. We discuss why simplicity is for winners, how to stop walking in circles, and how to build in hope even when your runway looks like a helicopter pad.
EPISODE HIGHLIGHTS
  • Shedding the Corporate Straightjacket: Understand how to separate your identity from your title. David shares his "rock bottom" moment in a grocery store and how it led to a deeper discovery of who Jesus says I AM.
  • The Frequency of Provision: Learn why complexity is often a "phishing scam" for your peace. We discuss the One-Page Wealth Compass—a radical, simple strategy that creates a sanctuary for inspiration.
  • The Theology of the Sprint: David distinguishes between "striving in the flesh" and "sprinting in Sonship." Discover how to pray like everything depends on God and work like everything depends on you.
  • The Rule of 72 & Supernatural Math: A look at how David doubled his portfolio value three times in six years by ignoring the "noise" and focusing on Kingdom-aligned stewardship.
  • Figma over Fire: Moving from "Financial Independence, Retire Early" to "Financial Independence, Graduate to next Adventure." Learn why your greatest breakthrough often follows the world’s attempt to discard you.

The Sidewalk Sanctuary

The world has a very specific way of telling us when we are finished. It usually comes in the form of a cardboard box, a final paycheck, and a walk to the sidewalk. For David Nassief, that moment arrived at age 63. After 18 years in the corporate arena, the "system" decided he was of no value.
Standing on that sidewalk, David faced a choice that many of us face in the "middle spaces" of our lives: succumb to the frequency of fear or lean into the Spiritually BRAVE reality of God’s provision.

Summary

In this episode of the Interviewing Jesus Podcast, I sit down with David Nassief, author of the One-Page Wealth Compass, to discuss one of the most powerful stories of restoration I have ever encountered. At age 63, David was handed a cardboard box and told his corporate career was over. Standing on a sidewalk with a bank account whispering "failure," he faced a choice: succumb to the frequency of fear or lean into the C♡♡Lness of God’s provision.
David chose to build. What followed was a Spiritually BRAVE six-year sprint that took him from that sidewalk to a seven-figure legacy by age 69. We dive deep into the "Monday-morning" mechanics of his journey, moving past the "corporate straightjacket" and into the reality of Sonship. This isn't just a conversation about money; it’s a practical path with raw stories and simple activations for anyone ready to stop walking in circles and start presiding over their divine calling. Whether your "runway" looks like a helicopter pad or you’re ready for a "Second Act," this episode will help you rewrite your story from rock bottom to a legacy of hope.
The corporate world told me I was of no value. I had to let the man inside hiding out; we had a job to do." —David Nassief

REWRITING YOUR STORY: FROM ROCK BOTTOM TO A SEVEN-FIGURE LEGACY, formatted for clarity and accessibility.

EPISODE TRANSCRIPT00:00 Kristen Wambach Today we are talking about a different kind of daily bread. Many of you are sitting in a middle space—perhaps you've faced a sudden ending, a "cardboard box moment" where the world told you that you were done. My guest today, David Nassief, stood on a sidewalk at the age of 63 with his career in a box and a bank account that whispered failure.
But instead of agreement, David chose a Spiritually BRAVE sprint. He is the author of the One-Page Wealth Compass, and he didn't just survive; he engineered a six-year journey into a seven-figure legacy by the age of 69. But we aren’t just talking about money today. We’re talking about a passion. We’re talking about the frequency of provision and the C♡♡Lness of walking with Jesus when the runway looks like a helicopter pad. Please welcome to the family, David Nassief.
01:08 David Nassief Thank you, Kristen. I'm excited to be here today with you.
01:10 Kristen Wambach Oh, so am I! I'm ready to pick your brain. A great place for us to start: David, you mentioned standing on that sidewalk at 63—I can relate a little bit too closely to that. And you chose not to succumb to the frequency of fear. In those first few months of cold calls and rejection—I mean, even you and Mary, your lovely wife of 30 years—you stepped into something and you believed Jesus, what He was saying about your identity of who you are versus the silence of your bank account. Tell us the story, what did that look like? Practical tools in hand?
02:01 David Nassief Sure, Kristen. Well, I’d be glad to. Well, like you said, I was 63 at the time and I just got fired after 18 years with the same corporate position. Totally unexpected, and I wouldn't wish that day on anybody. We did the math and if we drained all of our savings and all of our retirement, we were scheduled to be broke by 65. When other people are sitting back and saying, "Well, it's my time to enjoy the fruits of my labor," we’d be like… I don't know what we’d be. Anyways, that was hard.
That was very hard, but that wasn't the hardest part. The hardest part was driving home, thinking, "How am I going to tell my wife, Mary?" Like you said, we’ve been married for 30 years and she did not deserve the mess I just threw our life into. Anyways, after a couple of months of dead-end job searching, I did not have my heart in it. I did not want to go back to the corporate world. Every bone in my body says no, but I had to put a roof over, I had to put food on the table. mean, this is practical. I did it, but it was hard.
03:15 David Nassief And everybody I was interviewing with was saying, in so many words, "Yeah, the company that fired you, they did the right thing. You're of no value, and you're no value to us either." They didn't say it like that—they weren't mean about it—but they basically said that. So anyways, I just said one day, "No one's going to hire me and I got to do something." And so I took a huge risk, and it was huge. I decided to work as an independent sales agent, basically starting my own company on straight commission—no salary, no safety net, no benefits.
The first months were brutal: cold calls, constant rejection, rookie mistakes. I heard more "nos" in that two-month period than I’d ever heard in my life. But you know, Kristen, looking back, I can reflect on it now. I honestly believe all those "nos," all that resistance I was getting, was helping me build the mental muscles—and perhaps the spiritual muscles—I needed to punch through that dark period of my life and get to the other side.
After 10 months of grinding, I hit an incredible milestone. I was suddenly making more money than my good-paying corporate salary. And for a brief moment, I says, "We made it." But then I go, "Wait a minute, we haven't made nothing." I’d been making good money for 40 years, and look where it got me—on the verge of collapse financially. I need to learn how to invest. I need to learn how to build wealth.
04:22 David Nassief And I didn't have time for a bunch of investment theories and people with their conflicts of interest trying to make commission off you. Because my runway, as you said, was more like a helicopter pad than a runway. And so what I did is I said, "Okay, I’m diving in myself." I read 21 financial books, listened to 13 financial podcasts faithfully, read blogs, newsletters. Every time I got a good idea, I put it on one piece of paper. Then when the one piece of paper got full, I said, "I’m not going to go beyond one piece of paper because I want to keep it simple."
I would take off the worst idea and put the best one on, and I kept refining it, making it a "set it and forget it" approach because I couldn't waste time watching Wall Street. I had a business to run. And so anyways, after six years, I did what I thought was impossible—from terrified, and I do mean terrified of being broke, to a seven-figure portfolio and real financial freedom. I now know, Kristen, it is never too late to rewrite your story. Because if I can pull that off starting as late as 63, anybody can with the right direction.
05:29 Kristen Wambach Amen. I agree. I agree. I was sharing with David before we got started—I’ve been walking in ministry for years and years, and I won’t say it was a well-paying, if paid job at all. In my husband’s profession, he was a professional mechanic. He worked on high-end cars. When we got married, he was almost to $100,000. When he retired, it dropped almost 65%. That’s what the industry did. And here I am, passionate about Jesus, and I am an entrepreneur, and I went, "Okay, God, I believe you that you’re going to make a change here. Here I am. This is what I have to offer. Let’s build. Let’s get going." And we’re still here. We’re still doing.
Okay, so the theology of the sprint—we often hear about waiting on the Lord, but you describe a six-year sprint. How do you distinguish between striving in the flesh—I mean, I sometimes can feel that and get caught up in "We need this, we need to go here"—versus building in hope? So that I can get to Tuesday morning and I don't feel that build-up. How did you protect your peace?
07:22 David Nassief Well, first of all, my faith was always important to me and that was a huge—I can't emphasize this enough—a huge piece of the whole puzzle. But I want to say, because you talked about an entrepreneur, this was a lot harder than I'm making it sound. When I decided to go into business myself, I had scars. I failed twice in my 40s. I mean, one time it plunged me into a serious six-figure debt that it took me years to get out of.
So this wasn't a casual thing. I says, "But here's what I knew, Kristen," and this really helped me. And I think the Lord really put this in my mind: I made some serious mistakes in my 40s in businesses, but you know something? I learned from those mistakes. And I knew I was a smarter person at 63 than I was at 43. I was competing with people half my age with twice the energy, but I says the one thing I got going for me is I've got the Spirit directing me and I've got the knowledge of my past failures. I'm not going to throw that out.
08:52 David Nassief And I had a list of things I messed up on and I said, "I am not going to make these mistakes this time." And that was a tremendous, tremendous help. And then going through the six years, I'm sure you've heard of this phrase before: "Pray like everything depends on God and then get up and work like everything depends on you." That’s all I was doing for six years: praying and working, praying and working. That’s all I had to do.
And I remember when that 10th month when we actually surpassed my six-figure income from my corporation—we were happy, but we didn't even go out and celebrate. It’s terrible. We just kept pushing because we knew we had a lot longer to go. If I was 30-something, I’d probably gone out and partied. We didn't even have time for lunch. But I really felt the Spirit directing me. I knew that the Compass was an inspiration.
10:17 David Nassief There was a story if I could share with you briefly: Scientists at the Max Planck Institute did an experiment. They placed people in the center of a dense German forest and they told them to walk in a straight line to the edge. Now, these are all confident and capable people, but when the clouds covered the sun and they lost their point of reference, the GPS tracking they were wearing showed they were gradually suddenly starting to walk in circles. Some of them were actually ending up right back where they began.
And yet each and every one of them was absolutely convinced the whole time they were walking in a perfectly straight line. Kristen, that’s my life story for 40 years. Working hard, making good money, thinking I’m doing the right stuff when it comes to investing, but literally just walking in circles. After 40 years, I said something has to change and it’s the compass. I just knew that story came to me for a purpose. I need a one-page compass because I’ll admit to you, I'm the kind of person that gets distracted very easy. I couldn't afford to do that anymore. I had to stay focused.
11:29 Kristen Wambach Yes, that is a great story. I love it. So in your book, you talked about that rock bottom moment in the grocery store. For a creative entrepreneur listening—and that’s me too, because we’re just at the point of breaking through—what’s the first practical activation to shed that "straightjacket" which blocks you from starting to preside over your divine calling instead?
12:37 David Nassief Well, I think this was a few weeks after I got fired. My wife said, "Honey, I'm trying to conserve money so we don't run out too quickly. There's a big sale going on at the store. Can you come with me?" We get to the store, Kristen. I felt like I was the only man in the store. I saw all women and baby carts and babies crying. And I felt like, "What am I doing here? I need to be out there working, earning money, providing for my family." I really felt like I had a sign on my chest saying, "Biggest Loser."
I wanted to scream. I felt like I had this corporate mental straight jacket on. The image I had was I drive a new company car, drive nice suits—they took it from me. But the thing is, I was still trapped. When I went home that night, I realized that the corporate world told me loud and clear I was of no value to them anymore. End of story. So I said to myself, "Okay, the guy that’s in here hiding because he thinks he’s a corporate person has to come out because we have to fight this thing."
14:34 David Nassief That’s when I was inspired to develop this compass. If my agency failed, there goes the fuel to pump the wealth-building machine. I had 40 years of proof, Kristen—I'm an incompetent when it comes to building wealth. 40 years of making good money and I have nothing. This is crazy. So I had two fronts I was battling on at the same time and the only way I was going to succeed was with a compass that gave me the laser-like direction I needed.
15:34 Kristen Wambach I am writing notes here. Some of us have been driving that agency so hard and we’re not through yet. Can you give us some practical tools?
16:26 David Nassief One thing I’ll tell you: If it wasn't the Lord's time for me to succeed, that would not have shaken my faith. But looking back on it now, Kristen, it was a gift being fired. I know it was a gift from God. I was 63, but He waited until I was ready. I’m not sure my ego had been humbled enough for that at 45. He waited until I was ready.
And I’m grateful for the timing. I’m grateful that they thought I was of no value because I did know one thing now: When I got that corporate straight jacket off me, I have only three titles. I’m a Son of God, I am my wife’s husband, and I am my son’s father. Nobody can take those titles away from me. I wouldn't have lost my identity, which was the more important thing.
19:46 Kristen Wambach I didn't look this up. What is the percentage of people—because I'm 66 and my husband’s 72—what is the percentage of people in the United States that are not prepared for what you would call their seniors?
20:04 David Nassief This is from the National Council on Aging: 80% of older adults face financial insecurity. 50% of people 60+ do not have sufficient income to cover their basic needs. The number one cause for gut-wrenching stress among seniors is the fear of running out of money before they run out of life. Most of these people have worked 40 years, made other people wealthy, but neglected their own wealth building.
21:20 Kristen Wambach I’ve raised four sons, and I have never agreed with that word "retirement." I just went, "Well, it’s just like picking up a gun and saying, okay, I’m done." I’ve re-coined this word with my husband and I to "Refire." God has a purpose and a plan for us.
22:50 David Nassief I agree. I have a thing called FIGNA: Financial Independence, Graduate to Next Adventure. I love my agency. I work with my son now. I love doing my charity work. I can't comprehend retiring, but it's fine if you want to. But even in retirement, you better find a new way to graduate to some new adventure.
24:27 Kristen Wambach The man is standing on his soapbox. Amen! Lead us into the compass.
25:01 David Nassief I’m going to give this to all your listeners for free. It’s on two columns. The first is a nine trail markers—it tells you the nine steps. Start wherever you’re at. If you’re in credit card debt, start at number three. On the other side, I have the five North Star principles. One of them is: Live on less than you earn. If you don't learn that one, you will always struggle financially.
I have a wealth meeting with myself—two minutes—every Friday at 3:00. I look at my compass. Did I violate any North Star principles? I once made an impulse purchase, but I caught myself early. It keeps you safe. It gives you those mental guardrails so you can stay on the path.
28:23 Kristen Wambach I have a bookshelf full of said books, because I have been, "Okay God, I believe that You are a God of restoration." We lost our auto repair business 20, 25 years ago. But we just got to stand there and believe that He is a God of restoration.
37:10 David Nassief I think the biggest thief of the stuff that got taken from me was me. I didn't live the correct principles. I didn't take time to learn them. But I honestly believe the Lord loved me too much to deny me of being fired at 63. I’m a stronger person than I’ve ever been.
39:27 Kristen Wambach How do people connect with your resources?
39:39 David Nassief Go to onepagewealthcompass.com/free. You’ll get the download of the PDF. I'm not selling anything. I know what struggling is about, I promise you.
41:18 Kristen Wambach God is so good because He is rebuilding and restoring. It was as simple as a bird feeder hanging. We all have the capability for God to bless what’s inside of us to create that career and income success. Would you pray for us, David?
45:54 David Nassief I will. Dear Father in Heaven, we are grateful for the blessings given us. We pray for those who are struggling, seeking direction in the area of financing or whatever area. We pray they can seek the guidance of the Spirit and good guiding principles to help them out of the situation they’re in and into a better place. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
47:34 Kristen Wambach Amen. Life treated you like putting Goliath’s sword right in your back. What you have done—what the enemy meant to take you out—you have pulled the sword out of your back and now you wield it. You own the sword, you use the sword that was meant to take you out.
48:59 David Nassief Thank you for that analysis.
49:11 Kristen Wambach Thank you, David. And remember listeners, I’ll have all the links in the show notes. Thank you very much.

Shedding the Corporate Straightjacket

David’s "rock bottom" didn't happen in the boardroom; it happened in a discount grocery store. Surrounded by the "noise" of a world moving on without him, he felt the weight of a "corporate straightjacket"—an identity built on titles, company cars, and the false security of a salary.
As a spiritual investigative journalist, I’ve noticed that our greatest breakthroughs often follow the world’s attempt to "discard" us. To move into your divine calling, you must first be willing to let the "man or woman hiding inside" out. You have to move past the question, "What would Jesus do?" and start living from the reality of "Who does He say I AM?" Even when the bank account is silent, the Father is speaking.

The Theology of the Sprint

We often talk about "waiting on the Lord," but there is a season for the sprint. David describes a six-year journey where he went from the verge of collapse to a seven-figure legacy. This wasn't striving in the flesh; it was building in hope.
The "Monday-morning" logic of this sprint is simple: clear direction beats misdirected speed every time. David stopped walking in circles in the "dense forest" of financial noise and engineered a One-Page Wealth Compass. He realized that simplicity is for winners, while complexity is for victims. By focusing on a "Set it and Forget it" stewardship, he created a sanctuary for inspiration, freeing his mind from the anxiety of the unknown.

The Restoration of All Things

Restoration isn't just about getting back what was lost; it’s about the person you become during the process. David didn't just rebuild his bank account; he rebuilt his Sonship. At 72, he is living proof that your "Second Act" can be your most productive.
Whether you are an aspiring entrepreneur or someone yearning for transformational growth, your "runway" might look like a helicopter pad right now. But in the C♡♡Lness of the Spirit, God’s provision can outrun the world’s math.
Don't let the "cardboard box" moment be your ending. Pull the sword out of your back and start wielding it. Your restoration is not just a possibility—it is a promise.

FINAL SUMMARY: REWRITING YOUR STORY

The journey from a "cardboard box moment" to a seven-figure legacy is more than a financial turnaround; it is a profound testament to the Restoration of All Things. This episode with David Nassief serves as a high-stakes masterclass for the Spiritually BRAVE, proving that your value is never determined by a corporate system, but by your identity as a Son or Daughter.
The Pivot Points
  • The Identity Shift: David’s story began by shedding the "corporate straightjacket." He moved from the question of "What would Jesus do?" to the settled reality of "Who does He say I AM?" This shift is the mechanical necessity for anyone looking to bridge the gap between heavenly wisdom and practical stewardship.
  • The Power of Simplicity: In a world that uses financial "noise" as a phishing scam for your peace, the One-Page Wealth Compass stands as a sanctuary of clarity. David proved that clear direction beats misdirected speed, especially when your "runway" feels as short as a helicopter pad.
  • The Outcome-Focused Sprint: By praying like it depends on God and working like it depends on you, David engineered a six-year sprint of restoration. His "Monday-morning" logic—incorporating the Two-Minute Friday Meeting—offers a practical path to stop walking in circles and start presiding over your divine calling.
The Monday-Morning Payoff
Whether you are standing on a "sidewalk" of loss or simply looking to activate your "Second Act," the payoff is clear: It is never too late to rewrite your story. By aligning your earthly resources with Heaven’s frequency, you move from a state of quiet desperation to a life infused with purpose, authenticity, and a seven-figure legacy of hope.

Stop playing defense with your faith. It’s time to suit up for the life you were meant for. This book moves the supernatural out of the ethereal and onto the grass of your daily life.

    • ERADICATE DEATH DOCTRINES: Break free from the religious belief systems that have held your heart captive.
    • REWRITE YOUR HISTORY: Encounter the humanity of Jesus in the lower realms and the courts of heaven to restore your past.

    • INSIDE THE "GATES" STRUCTURE The Hell Gate: Testimonies of healing and encounters in the lower realms that prove no one is out of reach.
    • The Pew Gate: Deconstructing the religious "victim mentality" to find your true identity.
    • The Pulpit Gate: Moving from passive hearing to "Spiritual Bravery."
    • The Heaven Gate: Accessing supernatural wisdom for your daily, practical life.

A 440-PAGE IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE This isn't a quick-read devotional. It is a 440-page "Sure House" of spiritual investigation.

    • Massive Activations: Every chapter concludes with a "Game Plan" and "Play Sheet" to ensure the transformation is practical and permanent.

Still Awaiting Shipment of Author's Copies

P.S. I’ll be honest with you—I’m a "Hardback" kind of gal. There is something about diving deep and writing all over the pages, capturing the thoughts and conversations I hear from the Lord in real-time. While the ePub is convenient, it limits your ability to use this as a truly responsive Playbook.

Between you and me, the royalties on a printed book are much smaller, but the impact is so much greater. I want you to have the version that lets you "suit up" and engage. If you want to mark it up, wear it out, and make it yours—go for the Hardback.💋

BEYOND THE THRESHOLD
x
I believe that the gap between Heaven and Earth is not a distance to be traveled, but a threshold to be crossed. My faith isn’t found in "stale bread" religion, but in a face-to-face, relational reality with a God who is better than our current bandwidth can imagine.
The Pillars of Our Experience:
  • The Restoration of All Things: I believe no story is too broken for the goodness of God. From the depths of the "Field of Blood" to the heights of the celestial courts, His heart is set on our complete wholeness.
  • The Safety of Belonging: For the Servant heart and the Mercy soul, I believe the Father is building a "Sure House"—a place where your unique design is celebrated, and your presence is essential to the family of God.
  • Redemptive DNA: I believe every person carries a God-inspired signature. By uncovering our Redemptive Gifts, we move from the "poverty of striving" into the wealthy identity of an heir.
  • Relational Discernment: I believe in a "Rhema" connection—a living, breathing conversation with Jesus that provides the supernatural wisdom to navigate our actual, messy lives.
I believe in the "Dangerous Hope" that shires up the GATES of our lives, ensuring that neither height nor depth can separate us from the love that first called us Spiritually BRAVE.
