CONNECT WITH DR. MELANIE GRAY👑 Regulate First: The Biological Secret to Praying From VictoryWe often hear the call to walk in Kingdom Authority and carry supernatural glory. Yet, many high-performance individuals, aspiring entrepreneurs, and seekers of deeper spiritual truths find themselves struggling with burnout, anxiety, and a persistent feeling of being "stuck." Is it a lack of faith? A spiritual blockage? According to Dr. Melanie Gray, this struggle often has a biological root. Our conversation on the Interviewing Jesus Podcast reveals the profound truth: we must Regulate First—aligning our biological operating system (our nervous system) with the peace of Christ—before we can effectively lead or walk in spiritual power. The word, as Dr. Gray reminds us, "is not a sword until your voice uses it." In order to regulate, we need to know the word. You need at least one scripture anchor you can hold on to today." --Dr. Melanie Gray 🧠 The Gap Between Biology and BeliefDr. Gray posits that what we frequently mistake for spiritual failure is simply a nervous system stuck in dysregulation or survival mode. Our biological enemy to the Biblical concept of Shalom (peace, wholeness) is a dysregulated body reacting to the stress of this world. When our nervous system is constantly on high alert, our focus naturally turns to the flesh—the aches, the worries, the pains—just as the world system teaches us. But as believers, we are called to a higher standard: to walk by faith and not by sight. The key to closing this gap is knowing the Word of God. If we do not have scripture anchors to meditate on and keep our hearts and minds stayed on Him, our nervous system will default to the fear-based programming of the world. To regulate ourselves is to intentionally surrender and trust that the wonder-working power of the Word is active in our lives, regardless of how we feel. The word is not a sword until your voice uses it." —Dr. Melanie Gray 🚫 Rejecting Resilience for Resting in GodFor the intuitive and high-performance listener, the world promotes the myth of resilience—a sophisticated suffering that requires constantly "sucking it up" and "bouncing back." Dr. Gray encourages us to reject this, viewing it as an interference with true rest in God. Resilience keeps us in a cycle of chaos and recovery, never truly stable. Instead, when we are stabilized in Christ, we operate in a homeostatic balance of peace and rest. We don't have to bounce back; we are already moving in Him. This shift means letting go of control and trusting His provision over our striving.

🙏 Trauma, Praise, and the Power of His PresenceFor those grappling with unresolved trauma, the path to spiritual healing begins with recognizing that Christ is the ultimate Redeemer. Trauma can make us feel disconnected from God or see Him as a threat Yet, Christ is the freedom bearer and true healer. A key practical application for connecting our body to His presence is praise and worship. Praise is the highest form of prayer because it is an act of radical trust. It shifts our bodily frequency. When we worship, we are declaring, "I love you more than the pain I'm feeling right now." We lift Him until our body catches up with the truth of the Word. His presence is a tangible reality, a feeling of safety that expands the heart and rests the thoughts. Whether in a dedicated "altar" or in the car, God wants to meet us. Our ultimate safety is found under the canopy of His blood and His love, understanding that "his blood covers us... it broke every chain." The greatest act of faith is to simply stay still." – A.W. Tozer 🎯 Call to Action: As you go about your week, I want to challenge you: When you feel that old pattern come up, pause (use the breathing technique!), and ask yourself, "Is this a spiritual lack, or does my nervous system need the safety of God's Word right now?" Let's stop surviving and start thriving in the Oneness of His presence. Thank you so much for joining me on this journey of Interviewing Jesus. He is so awesome. Amen. Until next time, keep asking the questions that rewrite your life, and remember to stay Spiritually BRAVE. I love you so much, and I will talk to you again real soon. Bye now.
Let us choose to stop toiling and start resting. Let us move from the mindset of being busy to being present, knowing that our stillness and surrender will bring about a far greater, supernatural result than our striving ever could. Stay Spiritually Brave!
