Mount Tabor: Piano Playing Angel MichaelMay 20, 1920 In May, 1920, John G. Lake moved to Portland, Oregon to start and oversee another Apostolic Church. During this time he had the following vision: He could not sleep so he walked in the shadows of the tall trees in Mount Tabor Park. “Through the park is a footpath coming down through the trees that leads out to the street where we live, and in my vision I was seemingly out in the street, at the foot of this footpath, and as I looked up in the park I was attracted by a quite brilliant light far up in the park. It was very slowly coming down the pathway to the street. I stood somewhat surprised, supposing it was some night man on some duty in the park, probably searching for something or somebody. As it approached I discovered that, instead, it was an angel presence, and the brilliance was an illumination surrounding him. He stood a few feet from me, and said to me, "I have come to answer your prayers. Come with me.” Credit: Portland Vision the birth of Healing Rooms. All right, gather around for some incredible stories! The first one I want to share is what I like to call the "face movement." I was attending a fantastic church in Portland with 6,000 members when a wonderful missionary invited me to a conference focused on the teachings of John G. Lake regarding divine healing. They were sharing his teachings in a conference setting to instruct people on how to lay hands on the sick. This event took place at Warner Pacific University, nestled at the foot of Mount Tabor, which is notable for John G. Lake's encounter with a magnificent angel at its summit. I was part of the worship team, but things weren't quite coming together as planned. By the third day, my dear friend, the conference producer, approached me with a dilemma: the scheduled worship team for the next day couldn't make it. Would I step in? I agreed, but once alone, I turned to God and said, "I need your help." I rushed home to gather my music and notes, then returned to Portland the next day. At Warner Pacific, there's a beautiful chapel, and I asked God to clear it out so I could focus and prepare before leading worship that evening. When I arrived, I discovered a young man in his late twenties playing the piano beautifully. He was incredibly talented! I stepped out of the sanctuary, thinking, "God, I need to get in there; can you move this guy along?" After waiting about 15 minutes, I peeked back in, but he was still there. Realizing I knew every song he was playing, I started singing along, gradually moving closer and singing louder. After two or three songs together, I felt the Holy Spirit prompt me to ask him to join me for worship. I hesitated, thinking, "God, you want me to assess this person's holiness in moments and invite them to join the team? Are you serious?" Yet, I gathered my courage, asked his name, and discovered he was genuine and eager to help, filling in my own weaknesses in piano playing. His strength enhanced the worship experience, making it truly special. That evening, Michael played beautifully, alongside the conference speakers' two daughters who joined the worship team. The atmosphere was uplifting; I could feel people connecting with the Lord's presence, and I felt incredibly supported. However, after that conference set, I searched for Michael to thank him, but he was nowhere to be found. On the final night, during the last worship set, I scanned the audience and spotted him in the back row, smiling at me. Then, he vanished! Thank you, Jesus, for sending an angel to help and support me; it was simply wonderful.
I was invited to attend a women's conference at Bethel, my first experience there, alongside a large group of spirited women filled with the Holy Ghost. I had the honor of hearing Benny Johnson speak for the first time, where she shared the "wakey wakey" story. In brief, a student from one of the supernatural schools, hailing from Wales, was called by the Lord to visit Mariah Chapel. She recounted her experience to Benny, who then shared it with us. Upon arriving at the chapel, where others were present, the Holy Spirit instructed her to shout, "wakey wakey." But I was filled with excitement. I had just arrived home to our large Victorian house, built in 1872 Corvallis, which was once a 300-acre dairy farm. This has been my favorite home so far, featuring a widow's walk at the top where one could access the roof. Feeling energized, I thought I needed to do something adventurous. However, I hesitated to climb onto the roof because of my quirky neighbor, who might call the police on me. I pondered my options and then realized that we lived only five or six blocks from the high school and the football field. Perfect! I quickly greeted my family, dropped my bags, and announced I had an errand to run. My son Jacob, a musician, looked up and asked, "Mom, where are you going?" I replied, "Just for a quick walk." He pointed out it was past 10 PM and insisted, "Let me grab my skateboard. I’m coming with you!" We made our way to the football field, and to our delight, the chain-link fence was open. The community frequently used the running track, so I stepped inside. It was dark, so I turned off my flashlight and headed toward the 50-yard line, scanning the area for anyone else. I spotted a guy in the corner stretching—he appeared to be a runner. I walked directly to the center of the field, while Jacob practiced some skateboard tricks nearby. It was quiet; Corvallis was asleep, with only a few lights on in the neighborhood. Taking a deep breath, I shouted "Wakey wakey wakey!" as loud as I could three times. I paused, waiting amidst the background snoring. After a minute and a half, I felt a tingle at the back of my neck. Suddenly, I envisioned a tall figure by the football stands—a samurai-like guardian in armor, with his hand on his sheathed sword. He stepped into my view, and I couldn't help but ask for his name. To my surprise, he responded with a name that reflected the very essence of his armor! Caisson. Then, just like that, he vanished. I was ecstatic! I loved the experience and felt a deep connection to it. "Thank God he didn’t have his sword drawn" I thought, as he looked at me with curiosity. My heart soared as I realized I had encountered these magnificent guardian angels in Corvallis, Oregon. Beautiful Binge Listens
Hooray! I told you this would be enjoyable, and I trust you discovered something new while listening. I hope I made you laugh too. Thank you for being present and for your attention—wasn't that fun? It wasn't overly noisy, was it? Perhaps they are just enjoying the moment. I truly appreciate you spending this time with me. I love sharing these life stories about the unseen. There’s nothing to fear when you walk hand in hand with Jesus, as we are seated in heavenly places in Him. We continue to let Him guide us into all truth, allowing us to learn how to rule and reign; He is so good. I encourage you to check the show notes, where I'll include links to what I shared today. Don't forget to pick up the unfinished book and explore the chapter titled "Angels on a First Name Basis" – I know you will be blessed. I cherish this time with you, and I can truly feel the spirit of the earth. Amen! May you have a wonderful rest of your day. Now, as we wrap up—let's consider this like a preacher saying, "We're going to close now." I want to encourage you that while you and I are unique, our spiritual journeys are similar. Everyone has the chance to develop their spiritual senses. No matter where you find yourself on this journey, remember that heaven and all its realms welcome you. Some of us may be at the beginning of the path, others ahead, and some in the middle. Just know that I love you. Until next time, goodbye!
