"Embracing Divine Comfort: can we really be comfortable with ourselves in God? Does your ego, the left brain of life, keep you under fire at the Alter of Burnt offerings or doing another load of "SELF" laundry at the Laver, do you struggle with thoughts circling in your head constantly reminding you of imperfections, what needs change, improve? Embracing Divine Comfort: Finding Your Sanctuary in God's Love." a Sanctuary, what does that feel like? Kristen can you book me a room! How would I encounter God's love in a way that I look and like me? I'm comfortable as me? Today, we're diving into some profound insights from Ephesians 4, and exploring how simple divine truths can transform our journey and everyday life. Imagine for a moment, you're standing at the edge of a vast ocean, the waves lapping at your feet. This ocean represents the extravagant dimensions of grace. That is a tropical ocean, in my book, warm, inviting hues of blue-greens. Our ocean of grace wraps around each of us, regardless of our past performance or perceived shortcomings. Just like the ocean has no favorites, and holds the largest and smallest of living beings, this grace extends equally to all, offering us a sanctuary where we find divine comfort, assurance and our original and likable self. I can't wait to share it with you.
and how would one describe the way Your Sanctuary makes you feel... I do believe I found a famous text written by Pablo Neruda from 100 Love Sonnets, that brilliantly illustrates it. “I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.” Living Dream Language
This Psalm, the longest in the Book of Psalms, is like a symphony composed of 22 stanzas, each corresponding to a letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It’s as if each letter is a mentor whispering secrets of the heart and spirit. Aleph, for instance, invites us to begin with integrity, a foundation that holds us steady through life's storms. Beth follows, encouraging us to find a sacred space within our souls—a spiritual home where peace resides. Throughout this journey, we encounter letters like Gimel and Daleth, each with its own lesson, like old friends sharing invaluable insights. Gimel might remind you of the importance of generosity, nurturing the soul through acts of kindness. Daleth, on the other hand, speaks to moments of humility, those times when we feel low and need to seek strength from a higher source. Let's not forget He, a letter that breathes life into our dreams, urging us to walk in faith and trust the process. It's like planting seeds in a garden; you nurture them with care, trusting that in time, they’ll flourish. Each stanza of Psalm 119 is not just poetry but a call to action. It’s a reminder that spiritual principles are not abstract concepts; they're practical tools. Like a seasoned entrepreneur using a business plan, these verses encourage us to apply these principles daily. Reflect on them, meditate on their meaning, and let them guide your decisions. In this transformative journey through Psalms 119, you're not alone. These letters walk with you, offering encouragement and wisdom as you navigate your own path. So, embrace the written and ask God to take you on a journey to experience the “Living, Light Letters.” They will inspire your actions, as your life aligns with a higher purpose. A self-protective mechanism is a behavior or coping tool that people use to protect themselves when they feel unsafe, out of control, or vulnerable. These mechanisms can become automatic and can cause people to sabotage their relationships. Some examples of self-protective mechanisms include:
Self-protective mechanisms can be activated when someone experiences a threat to their positive self-views, such as being criticized, performing poorly on an exam, or social rejection. Highlighted Scripture from Ephesians 4 Mirror4:7 The gift of Christ measures the extravagant dimensions of grace; where everyone is equally advantaged. (One measure, one worth. Our individual value is defined by his gift; not by our performance.) 4:8 Scripture confirms that he arrested every possible threat that held mankind hostage. ["he took captivity captive"] And in his resurrection, he led us as trophies in his triumphant procession on high. Consider the genius of God, in the incarnate Christ, he repossessed what belonged to us by design, in human form; this is his grace-gift to us. 4:11 What God has in us, is gift wrapped to the world: some are commissioned to pioneer, others are gifted prophetically, some as announcers of good news, some as shepherds with a real gift to care and nurture, and others have a gift to ignite instruction through revelation knowledge. (Couriers, communicators, counsellors and coaches. — Rob Lacey.) 4:23 Thus you are habitually renewed in your innermost mind. This will cause you to be completely re-programmed in the way you think about yourself. (Ponder the truth about you, as it is displayed in Christ; begin with the fact of your co-seatedness. You can never be more co-raised and co-elevated than what you already are. You can only "grow" in your awareness of your redeemed oneness. BINGE LISTEN
No matter what storm you face, you need to know that God loves you. He has not abandoned you.
a little Left brain Right brain discussionLet's talk about an interesting concept: the battle between the left and right brain. If you've ever been called a left-brain thinker, you've been complimented on your exceptional prowess in math and logic. This is your comfort zone. But what about those dubbed right-brain thinkers? They usually find their strength in the beautiful chaos of creativity. Let's explore the traits that define these two types of thinkers. Those who are driven by their left brain have an affinity for language, they're logical, critical thinkers and have a knack for numbers and reasoning. They're the ones you'd want on your trivia team! The world sees them as analytical, logical, and organized. These are the folks who excel in careers that require linear thinking, maths, and verbal information. Think accountants, scientists, or computer programmers. On the flip side, we have the right-brained individuals. These are the people who can recognize faces in a crowd, express their emotions in a heartbeat, compose a symphony, and appreciate the nuances of every shade of color in a sunset. They have a vivid imagination, an intuitive sense, and a creative streak that sets them apart. In essence, right-brained people are often seen as emotional, intuitive, and creative. They thrive in careers that encourage creative expression and free-thinking, like artists, psychologists, or writers. So, are you a left-brain logical wizard or a right-brain creative genius? Or perhaps, like many of us, you're a beautiful blend of the two, bringing together the best of both worlds. Whichever one you are, remember to embrace your unique abilities and use them to better your life and the lives of those around you.
