Hello family and welcome. Yay. I am so delighted that You are here. Let me give You a precursor for today's episode. It is off the cuff. I'm pressing through a crazy week, a crazy month. And I just wanted to sit down and chat with You and talk with You and You talk with me so that we can get to that important destination that lives in our hearts. Amen. Let me just shore that up a little bit. No script here. Just trying.

Connecting. That's the word I want. Connecting. I need You. You need me. Connecting in His oneness. Amen. Let me share scripture with You. This is going to sew us up and connect us together today. Neither death nor life or angels or principalities nor powers nor things present nor things to come nor height nor depth nor any other creature Shall be able to separate us from the love of God not even ourself Amen, that's Romans 8 38 through 39. Today we're going to discuss being driven by our dreams. Yet sometimes the world and life, there's just this distraction and rejections. And You go, help me Jesus, right? Well, I'm in that spot today. Help me Jesus. And that's what I bring to the microphone today. I bring it to You. I need prayer. You need prayer. I don't think that there are differences in our life per se. There's similarities of distractions of things going on that You and I share. Y'all know that I am in the process of publishing my second book. How good is God? And, and, my gosh, it's so much work. And I'm pressing through to, April 1st deadline to hit that publish button, to be able to share it with You. And, at times it can be terribly frazzling and overwhelming and I just needed to lay that on the table and talk to You today. Can we do that? Can we just not have an agenda and talk today? Amen. Let's invite Holy Spirit here. You pray for me. I pray for You. Put our hands together in the oneness, one faith, one body in Christ and just exalt who He is amen. Father God I thank You for the bandwaves of your goodness that just reaches around the entire world takes this satellite communication to touch each and every one of our hearts today the listener my family of listeners. Right into my heart. We just need to be encouraged today and we just lay down our stuff and we submit ourselves to say, Father here we are. We're spending these valuable moments focused on You Amen. Cause remember neither death, no life, nothing. Have You ever thought about that? Nothing can separate us from the love of God.

But today we're going to talk about some of the distractions that certainly attempt to try, right? As a spiritual investigative journalist, that means I write down what I experienced and what I feel. And this is the raw truth. There's that empowers You and I to put on a Superman cape today to experience His dominion in heaven and on earth. And we sit right next to Him and squeeze right between Jesus and the Father. And we just share that intimacy, share that dominion, figure out those keys, turn the keys and open the door, right? And refuse to let the noise stop the calling that's in your heart, the calling that's in my heart to keep on moving and pressing it. Let's highlight. I have a few notes highlighted here. Finding purpose amidst the noise of distraction. And there's a few of them that are distracting or attempting to distract us, right? It's easy to feel inadequate or distracted by people, the environment around us are to-do lists. And here we are, we're parents juggling our schedule to nurture, love and support our kids. I remember when my boys were young and we had four different little league baseball teams that we had to be there and support. How did we ever get through that? I understand. Many of us are entrepreneurs. We're our own boss and we're pressing through the days that we wish...

Hey, don't I have a little sick leave here, a little sick time? Can I take a day off? Do You hear me? And we're spouses, right? Yeah. Wives, we're needing that special hug that says that You see me and I feel safe, right? And His husband's... They need our pom-poms, ladies. We need to cheer and we need to affirm their manliness. Some of us might just be starting to walk into that and others could be like where I am in this season and we're just ticking the boxes and finishing all the dust jackets and book covers and drafts and PDFs and editing. We're just finishing it up. But God is right there with us. Amen. Now some of the things that I have noticed in this particular season, how to protect your dream from the spotlight of shame. I've been listening to some of the things that have been going on around me and the flavor...

of the distractions that are presenting themselves. One of my favorite ladies, Brene Brown, defines shame as the intensely painful feeling or experience of believing that we are flawed and therefore unworthy of love, unworthy of our dream and belonging to something that we've experienced, done or failed to do makes us unworthy of connection.

Well, that just is not true, but there is a tangible feeling sometimes that we can feel in our heart. Amen. We can, we can feel it in our heart and sometimes it feels difficult to separate it in our lives. Sometimes shame can feel like a fishing net, a fishing net in the mouths of others. Have You experienced that? Bullies push their own fears and unresolved unworthiness. It just, it just seems to vomit right out of their mouth and it tries to catch us in the net. Where overwhelm and disconnect can compromise the core values of our loved ones. What do You do when they are being challenged their own core values are being challenged and that's the place that they're talking from. How do we protect ourselves, lay healthy boundaries and keep focused and keep moving forward and feel ever so close in the oneness with Him? Number one, talk to God. Every moment through every feeling, just like this episode, talking to God in talking to You.

letting it out, having the conversation that God is so much a part of. We can't just hold up the pretty white fence of promise. If a offense is circling like a buzzard in our thoughts, we have to deal with it. We have to talk to Him about it. We have to put our finger right on the thing and say, God, this feels like crap. It doesn't feel good. And I need to talk to You about this. And He's always there to support us. We give it to God. We release it into His charge. We have a conversation with Him and we allow ourselves to feel in His presence because when we allow ourselves to feel in His presence then it doesn't seem to bubble over into others like in the home and in our relationships because we don't want all those feelings to bubble over to our spouses. Amen. And my husband say, thank You very much for saying that. And it's not always so easy. We give it to God, we release it, we take communion with Him and we trade it. Let me ask You this. When was the last time that You told the enemy You are dismissed? There You are. You're dismissed. And what's really true about this statement is I usually say this when I'm in the bathroom standing in front of the mirror and my head is going off on...

What was said here and my to-do list. So I'm trying to balance those things and, how shut my mind and all of a sudden I'll go, I'll go devil. You are dismissed by, and it just works. It just, it goes away. It shuts Him up. And all of sudden I find this peace in this quiet in my brain. And then that allows me to re-queue. God. Your goodness has my back. And what do I mean by having my back? I feel His support. I know His support. I'm aware of His support. In Isaiah 52 12, it says, but You will not leave in haste or go and fight for the Lord will go before You. The Lord God of Israel will be your rear guard. I need to feel Him. As our rear guard, looking at this as a spiritual investigative journalist, I'm looking at it. I'm tangibly touching it, feeling it, writing it down. God is speaking to You and I all day long. For Him to be our rear guard, literally means He's a tactical military position of protecting and advancing armies back. You and I were going forward and He is protecting our back. God doesn't just clear the path ahead. He completely secures our blind spots.

can we just think on that for a minute here? He completely secures our blind spots. In Isaiah 58, eight, says, then your light will break forth like the dawn and your healing will quickly appear. Then your righteousness will go before You and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard. Think on that. The glory of the Lord right behind us. Maybe it's the chair we're sitting in. Maybe it's the seat. If You're driving down the road, hanging onto the wheel, it's your seat. Imagine the glory of the Lord behind You. Deuteronomy 31, 8, the Lord himself goes before You and will be with You. He will never leave You, no forsake You. Do not be afraid. Do not be discouraged. And then this season, if discouragement tries to duke it out with me, and sometimes, yeah, sometimes we put boxing gloves and attempt to duke back. We attempt to strike back. But if we just quiet ourselves and realize that it goes before us, behind us, He's inside of us. He's on the right. He's on the left. He's everywhere.

We are putting on our Superman cape amen true revelation climbs across boundaries and pushes us past our Self-imposed limits limits. I mean sometimes we allow the noise Sometimes we allow noise to press in on us instead of saying to ourselves God You have my back You have my forward You have my best interest at hand. God You have my back, You have my forward, You have my best interest at hand.

to overcome these hurdles of distractions. Sometimes they're rejections. We have to be willing to put our Superman cape on. Step into the reality that Kings rule kingdoms. Amen. Recognize that You and I are transformed self because of Jesus Christ's gift to us. The gift to us it keeps us driving and moving forward because our spirit is without borders or boundaries think on that our spirit our spirit within His spirit You You can't separate it out it's not like a pie God the Father God the son God the holy spirit than us no there's not four sections of the pie You cannot Cut out portions and say, this is You and this is me and this is Him. No, we're in Oneness.

And so we recognize in that oneness, sometimes it's just saying, help God. I need You to quiet my brain. Help God. I need to feel You supporting my back in this particular situation. In this conversation with a coworker, I need You to go before me, God, and let me see your light shine in this situation with my family. God, I need to feel your tangible strength when this diagnosis is just shaking me in my boots. Let's change out our boots and stand in His goodness. Amen. As an ordained pastor for over 30 years, a transformation coach who has spent decades teaching others to engage the spiritual realm. My heart, that is my heart with interviewing Jesus podcasts to bridge the gap between heaven and earth. And sometimes our journeys and the distractions can feel like rejection, but it's never a dead end. It's an invitation to expand our expectations of His goodness. Amen. We ask ourselves, God, how good are You in this situation?

and see if He won't open up another window of heaven. They're open, but sometimes we just need a new window, a new breath, a new light to shine deeply inside of us. THE REAR GUARD REALITY
- Tactical Protection: For God to be our rear guard is a tactical, military position. He is protecting the back of an advancing army.
- Secured Blind Spots: As you move forward into your calling, Heaven does not just clear the path ahead of you; it completely secures your blind spots. The glory of the Lord is right behind you, tangibly supporting you whether you are sitting at your desk or making grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner.
