Mercy Triumphs Over Judgment – An Activation for Your Heart
Welcome, beloved family.
Today, I share a heartfelt message inspired by Kristen Wambach's impromptu episode focusing on the profound connection between mercy and judgment. This reflection is not only an encouragement but an activation—a call to engage deeply with God’s heart.
The Story That Stirred the Message
Kristen recounts receiving a message from a dear friend whose husband faced open-heart surgery. As she prayed, another friend’s recent heart procedure came to mind. Seeking guidance, Kristen turned to Scripture and the Lord’s wisdom, anchoring her heart in
Hebrews 4:16: For this reason we can approach the authoritative throne of grace with bold utterance. We are welcome there in his embrace, and are 1reinforced with immediate effect in times of trouble. Mirror
Biblical judgment encompasses several key aspects that outline how God's evaluation works:
  1. Divine Assessment: Judgment primarily refers to God's evaluation of human actions, thoughts, and intentions, grounded in His holiness, righteousness, and justice.
  2. Discernment and Decision: It involves discerning between right and wrong, leading to decisions or decrees based on God's perfect evaluation.
  3. Accountability: A core theme is holding individuals and nations accountable for their actions before God.
  4. Consequences: Judgment results in consequences—blessings for obedience and punishment for disobedience, which can be immediate or related to end times (eschatological).
  5. Facets of Judgment:
    • God's Judgment: Includes both immediate judgments seen in historical events (like the flood and Sodom and Gomorrah) and future final judgments for all humanity.
    • Human Judgment: Believers are encouraged to exercise moral discernment aligned with God’s will, avoiding hypocritical or self-righteous judgments.
    • Judgment of Believers and Unbelievers: Christ's offering of life and death, Done, Finished! God gave up the right to be angry!

In essence, biblical judgment is the process through which God, and believers in specific contexts, discern, evaluate, and make decisions based on righteousness and truth. It ultimately emphasizes accountability and the corresponding consequences for actions.

Summary of the Biblical Definition of Mercy
Biblical mercy is defined as compassionate treatment and loving-kindness, particularly towards those who are suffering, in distress, or deserving of punishment. It embodies both an emotional response and active intervention to alleviate hardship. Key aspects include:
  1. Compassion and Pity: Rooted in deep empathy, mercy involves genuinely feeling and responding to the pain of others.
  2. Loving-Kindness and Benevolence: Expressed through gentle, generous actions aimed at relieving suffering.
  3. Forgiveness and Withholding Punishment: A central theme in the Bible, showcasing God's willingness to forgive rather than administer deserved punishment.
  4. Practical Help and Relief: Mercy translates into tangible acts of support, comfort, and healing.
  5. God’s Attribute: Mercy is a defining characteristic of God, described as "rich in mercy" (Ephesians 2:4) and "abounding in steadfast love" (Exodus 34:6).
  6. Human Response: Believers are encouraged to mirror God's mercy through their actions, promoting forgiveness, kindness, and practical help to others (Matthew 5:7, Luke 6:36, Micah 6:8).

In essence, biblical mercy is both a divine attribute and a moral imperative for believers, encompassing forgiveness, loving-kindness, and concrete acts of compassion.

Key Scripture and Divine Revelation
While interceding, Kristen felt led to
James 2:13:
"Judgment shows no mercy to those who do not walk in mercy, but mercy triumphs over judgment."

This revelation sparked a crucial question: Can judgment hinder mercy? The Lord responded, "Yes." This became the focus—understanding how to remove the judgments standing in the way of God's love.

Activation: Removing Judgments, Releasing Mercy
Kristen guides us through an activation:
  1. Approach the Throne of Grace: Ask the Lord to reveal any judgments acting as barriers.
  2. Listen and Respond: As judgments surface, simply say:
  3. "Father God, I ask for Your forgiveness for holding this judgment against [person/situation]."
  4. Nail Judgments to the Cross: Break agreement with these judgments and their power over lives.
  5. Release Blessing: Invite God’s mercy and love to flow freely.

Highlighted Quotes:
  • “Mercy triumphs over judgment.”
  • “Raise your hand—how many of you desire to feel the tangible love of God, His support, that immediate effect? Amen.”
  • “I could feel it—God was moving the furniture around, rearranging our houses so His loving kindness could do the work.”

Summary:
This episode is a gentle yet powerful reminder that while judgment can hinder God's movement, mercy has the authority to triumph over it. By seeking forgiveness, releasing judgments, and embracing God’s grace, we create space for His immediate, transformative love.
